Cineplex announced today that it is launching a video gaming league for young people, featuring LEGO Dimensions. The family-friendly program is a new concept in Canada and is geared towards targeting a younger gaming demographic.
The new league officially begins in March 2017 and consists of four consecutive weekly sessions where LEGO fans can play and compete in-theatre on the big screen. The league is set-up so that there are no eliminations and all players, regardless of age or skill level, will be active and engaged throughout the entire season.
In preparation for this family-friendly series, Cineplex Entertainment is hosting a free LEGO Dimensions Live launch event at 12 theatres across Canada on December 3rd from 12:30-3:30 p.m. In addition to being among the first to play the LEGO Dimensions Battle Arenas on the big screen, the first 50 guests at each theatre will also receive a free LEGO toy. Gamers under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult in order to play.
As of Saturday, December 3rd, gamers can register for the season beginning in March 2017 and they will also receive a LEGO Dimensions t-shirt and lanyard. Click here for a list of participating theatres as well as registration fees and details.
Headup Games today released the building strategy game Townsmen on Steam. To celebrate the launch, the game will sell with a 17% discount setting the price to $9.99.
Bandai Namco and developer Mojo Bones today announced Impact Winter, a new survival game to be released on Steam in early 2017. In Impact Winter, players take control of a group of survivors in a post-apocalyptic world following a devastating asteroid impact with Earth. Players will need to gather supplies, band together, and survive for 30 days until help arrives.

Ubisoft today announced that Watch Dogs 2 is now available on PC.
Watch Dogs 2 features a wide array of PC-specific improvements, including full 4K support with Ultra Textures and Extra Details options. The game also features uncapped FPS, along with a host of other features and options such as multi-monitor support with advanced setting, multiple save files support and a fully mouse-centric UI.

Perfect World Entertainment and Motiga today announced that Open Beta for Gigantic launches as part of the Xbox Game Preview program on Xbox One and Windows 10 on December 8th. The free-to-play competitive action MOBA offers cross-play between platforms and releases on Arc (PC) at a to-be determined date following the Xbox Game Preview program.
Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts today announced that Titanfall 2 will host a free trial of the game’s full multiplayer offering. The trial will begin for EA Access and Origin Access members on November 30th, and become available for all non EA Access and Origin Access players starting December 2nd on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Origin for PC. Those looking to continue the action into the full game will have all their multiplayer progress carryover.
Following the release of Titanfall 2, all post-launch maps, modes, and weapons will be absolutely free to all players, and that all starts on November 30th with the release of Angel City’s Most Wanted. Featuring the fully remastered fan favorite Angel City map from the original Titanfall, Angel City’s Most Wanted introduces additional free content including the Wingman Elite Pistol, six new Titan kits, and a brand new Pilot execution. Angel City’s Most Wanted also gives players the ability to purchase cosmetic items for their Pilot and Titan, including camos, nose art, warpaint, and more. Players who pre-ordered Titanfall 2 ahead of the game’s release will get access to the Angel City map starting on November 30th, while all players getting access to the Angel City map on December 3rd.
Defiant Development today announced that Hand of Fate 2 will launch on PlayStation 4 in Q1 2017 alongside the previously announced Xbox One and PC releases. Defiant Development will showcase a new demo of the game at PSX 2016, debuting the third companion, Estrella Fiore.
Captain Estrella Fiore will be a terror at range, and while her interests align with the player’s, a fearsome companion. However should the player find themselves on the wrong side of the Empire, Estrella will have some hard choices to make. On the tabletop, her unwavering persistence will also grant a second attempt during the new Pendulum minigame, designed to test precision and timing.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and The LEGO Group today announced that LEGO Worlds, a galaxy of imaginative worlds made entirely of digital LEGO bricks where players can explore, discover and create together, will launch on February 21st for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. LEGO Worlds has been in Steam Early Access since last year allowing players to provide feedback for continual improvements leading up to its official launch.
In LEGO Worlds, players uncover hidden treasures in environments that range from fun to the fantastical, where worlds come to life with a variety of vehicles and creatures – from cowboys riding giraffes to vampires scaring Yetis, to steamrollers, racing cars and colossal digging machines. Gamers can embark on a quest to become a Master Builder by helping other LEGO characters along the way – find a sword for a king, protect a farmer from a zombie invasion, or build a home for a caveman. Environments and creations are brought to life in any way fans can imagine, either by building brick by brick, placing down prebuilt LEGO structures, or by using tools that let you paint and shape the landscape. LEGO Worlds’ online multiplayer functionality allows players to explore each other’s worlds together, create together, and engage in cooperative and competitive play experiences that players can build themselves.
A separate LEGO Agents DLC pack, featuring new characters, vehicles, weapons and more from the Agents range of play materials, will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4 for a limited time.
