Robot Entertainment today announced that its action tower defense game Orcs Must Die! Unchained will release commercially on April 17th on OrcsMustDie.com and Steam.. This free-to-play commercial release features the classic gameplay players have come to enjoy, and also heralds the return of head-to-head gameplay in the form of Sabotage, a brand new 3v3 party game mode.
In this fast-paced mode, players assemble a team to defend their rift, but at the same time another team is playing on the same map in some… spooky… alternate dimension or something. These other players can distract your team with spells, minions, and bosses to make you lose rift points. But of course, players can pay ‘em back by doing the same! The team with the most rift points at the end of the match wins.

The Surge gives players greater control over what they loot from defeated enemies. During combat, they can individually target specific body parts, which they can damage with a combination of vertical and horizontal attacks to then slice off – and what part they dismember directly determines what piece of equipment they loot. When approaching an enemy, players will make a difficult decision: do they target an unarmored body part for a shorter fight, or risk a lengthier, damaging battle for a chance at slicing off a shiny new piece of equipment?

The trial will be available to download for free in the PlayStation Store or Xbox Games Market, and allows players to create characters and begin exploring the world, with the ability to transfer save data to the full retail version at launch.
Developer Coilworks today released a commentary video for Super Cloudbuilt highlighting the stages fans will soar through. Another week, another Champion Profile for Quake Champions. This time, they’re starting a little trouble with one of the game’s badass women – Slash – the Roller Queen of the Arenas. She’s fast, brash and a viciously effective warrior for skilled fraggers. Her Plasma Trail ability punishes enemies who follow too close and allows her to strategically encircle key points and power-ups in a crushing wall of suffering. On her skates, she’s fast and nimble, and using Crouch Slide only increases her mobility around corners.

The Open Beta will pit players against each other in Dawn of War III’s multiplayer. This game mode highlights the strengths and weaknesses of each faction as players put powerful heroes and devastating abilities to use, while countering those of their foes. Players will have access to all three of the game’s factions – Space Marines, Eldar, and Orks – and a selection of elite heroes for each, allowing them to experiment with different playstyles and strategies.
The Open Beta weekend also gives players their first chance to see and experience the Masters of War skins in action. The Dark Queen skin for Lady Solaria (Imperial Knight), the Ghost Seer skin for Farseer Taldeer (Wraithknight) and the Big Kustom skin for Beauty (Morkanaut) will all be available for use.
