Jackbox Games today announced that The Jackbox Party Pack 3 is now available as a digital title for the PlayStation 4 via the PlayStation Store and PC via Steam for $24.99. It will be available on Xbox One through the Xbox Games Store on October 21st. Like its predecessors, this newest bundle in the series features five multiplayer games that use phones or tablets as controllers. By visiting Jackbox.tv and entering a room code, players anywhere in the world can join the fun – and up to 10,000 spectators can participate in the audience, in some instances affecting the outcome of the game.
The Jackbox Party Pack 3 features four totally original titles: Trivia Murder Party challenges up to eight contestants to test their knowledge while being held captive by a hilariously unstable serial killer; Guesspionage is a game of percentages that asks up to eight players to guess the public’s answers to thought-provoking questions; Tee K.O. combines your artistic side with witty wordplay by turning drawings and slogans from up to eight players into hysterical T-shirts; and Fakin’ It tasks up to six players with secret, ridiculous instructions, with the exception of one clueless player who must lie and cheat to avoid being discovered as “The Faker.”
The pack’s fifth title is the return of a party game favorite. Quiplash 2 is a bigger, better version of the original, with more say-anything prompts and a new final round, The Last Lash. And for the first time, Quiplash 2 allows users to write their own custom prompts, making it infinitely replayable.
The Jackbox Party Pack 3 also includes improved audience and streaming features. VIP status within games allows censoring of unruly players or audience members, keeping games troll-free. And for family game nights, mature content can be eliminated in Guesspionage, Fakin’ It and Quiplash 2 with the Family Friendly Filter.
Ubisoft today announced that its first Virtual Reality game, Eagle Flight, is now available on Oculus Rift and will be available on PlayStation VR on November 8th and HTC Vive on December 20th.
Developed by FunHouse, a division of Ubisoft Montreal, Eagle Flight is set 50 years after humans have disappeared from Earth, where wildlife and nature have taken over Paris. In single-player mode, players refine their flying skills, learning new tricks by competing in challenges and in multiplayer face-off in a capture-the-prey dogfights for up to three vs three players.
Bethesda Softworks have released a new video for Prey, the first-person sci-fi action game from Arkane Studios, titled “The History of TranStar”. Discover more about the dark history of Talos I in this newly released alternate history video.
In the alternate future of Prey, President Kennedy survives the assassination, which sets off a turn of events leading to the central conflict. After recovering from the attempt on his life, Kennedy threw his nation further into the space race by taking control of a U.S./Russian joint program and transforming a Russian satellite into a fully functional R&D facility meant to study non-terrestrials. This facility later became Talos I, a highly advanced space station owned by the TranStar Corporation.
In the few years since TranStar took over, the station has been used as the testing ground for some morally dubious experiments, with people on board serving as subjects – people like Morgan Yu. After awakening on Talos I, Morgan finds the station overrun by a previously contained non-terrestrial entity called Typhon, which the scientists had been studying and using to improve the scope of human abilities. Aided by strange alien-based powers, Morgan must survive the incursion, uncover the mysteries surrounding the Typhon and save humanity from the impending danger aboard the station.
Prey is slated for release in 2017 on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
