Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Coming December 20th

XSEED Games today announced that their retail edition of the crowd-funded action game developed by WayForward, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, will launch for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on December 20th. To celebrate the indie series’ first full HD release, a limited “Risky Beats” retail edition will be packaged with a musical selections CD containing 30 songs from the game’s soundtrack for PS4 and Vita as well as for Wii U for a SRP of $29.99. The retail release date for Wii U will be one week later on December 27th. WayForward will launch the PS4 and Wii U versions digitally on December 20th from PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop, respectively, for $19.99. XSEED Games will handle publishing duties for the digital Vita release from PS Store, also scheduled for December 20th, for $19.99.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue – Trailer

Square Enix and Disney released a new trailer that reveals new details from Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, the game that is the final update leading up to the entry in the franchise, Kingdom Hearts III, which will conclude Xehanort’s Dark Seeker Saga.

The trailer features gameplay footage and cutscenes from each title in the compilation: the remastered Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD, and the entirely brand-new chapters Kingdom Hearts χ [chi] Back Cover and Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage –. Accompanied by “Simple And Clean –Ray of Hope MIX–“, a new remix version of the theme tune for the series by Utada Hikaru, the trailer peeks into the machinations of the foretellers and the threat of a traitor within that lead to the devastating Keyblade War; the fate of Aqua as she battles to survive through the perilous and deceptive dangers of the Dark World; as well as Yen Sid’s wisdom on what Sora, Riku, and King Mickey must do in order to prepare for the final confrontation against Master Xehanort.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue will be available on January 24th for the PlayStation 4.

Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel Out Now on PC

XSEED Games today announced that its 2D crossover fighter Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel is now available on PC via Steam for $29.99 with a 10% launch week discount.

A special discount offer has been extended to Steam owners of the fellow 2D fighter Skullgirls, with patrons of the title able to receive 25% off of their purchase of Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel between December 8 and December 18, which when combined with the game’s 10% launch week discount offer Skullgirls owners on Steam a total 35% discount. Conversely, players who pick up Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel within the 10-day window will receive 75% off a purchase of Skullgirls on Steam.

Originally released for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, the PC release of Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel mirrors the latest version of the game in Japanese arcades, offering rebalanced characters, added victory poses and animated stage backgrounds, as well as a brand new color palette to celebrate the PC version. All DLC from the console release, including the additional fighters Homura from the Senran Kagura series and Heart from the Arcana Heart series, is also included.

New Maps and Modes Coming to Modern Warfare Remastered

Activision today announced that on December 13th players who own Modern Warfare Remastered will receive the remaining six remastered maps: Bloc, Countdown, Pipeline, Showdown, Strike, and Wet Work, along with the Hardpoint and Gun Game modes being made available in Modern Warfare Remastered for the first time. Plus, fans will get an additional chilly bonus with the remastered Winter Crash map.

Activision is planning more Call of Duty goodness throughout the month of December, including a prototype Hailstorm – Thunder pistol for players who have clocked time in both Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare. Here’s a link to the Activision blog post with more details.

Realm of the Wood Elves DLC Out Now for Total War: Warhammer

Total War: Warhammer’s biggest DLC to date – Realm of The Wood Elves – is now available on Steam. To celebrate, Creative Assembly released a brand new gameplay trailer showcasing the unique playstyle of the Wood Elves in both campaign and battle.

Creative Assembly is also releasing free content to players old and new. Two new heroes, the Grey Wizard and Jade Wizard, as well as their corresponding lores of magic – the Lore of Shadows and Lore of Life, have been made available to all players, completely free. In addition, owners of Call of the Beastmen will receive a new free Legendary Lord – Morghur the Shadowgave – along with a new, deadly flying unit, the vicious Harpies.

We Happy Few Receives Clockwork Update

Compulsion Games today launched a set of major optimizations for We Happy Few called the Clockwork Update, which introduces a new tutorial area, improved encounters during conversations and quests, a visual overhaul in the village of Hamlyn, and more.

Fan-Voted Characters Added to One Piece: Burning Blood

Bandai Namco has announced two new playable characters, Monkey D. Garp and Caesar Clown, for One Piece: Burning Blood on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One and PC via Steam. The two new characters were selected by fans as part of an online fan vote earlier this year and will be available to download on December 22nd for $2.99 each.

Wild Guns Reloaded to Launch December 20th on PS4

Natsume announced today that Wild Guns Reloaded for the PlayStation 4 will launch on December 20th. The classic arcade-style shooter now features new playable characters, weapons, stages and enemies plus an all-new four player co-op mode. The game will be available digitally and have a limited physical release for $29.99 USD.

New to EA Originals: Sea of Solitude

Last June, Electronic Arts announced their EA Originals program to bring new games from small developers to players worldwide. Today, EA introduced their second EA Originals title – Sea of Solitude. It is developed by Cornelia Geppert and her team at Jo-Mei Games in Berlin, Germany.
