Bandai Namco today announced that Impact Winter, a post-apocalyptic survival adventure game from developer Mojo Bones, is now available digitally for PC via Steam. Digital versions will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.
The year is 2018 and after a devastating asteroid collision, the world is buried deep beneath perpetual snowfall. Supplies are scarce and each day exposes a more difficult challenge to survive than the last. A mysterious radio transmission changes everything by bringing a glint of hope — help is coming in 30 days. Players take on the role of Jacob Solomon as he leads a group of four other survivors, each with their own special skill sets, throughout a month-long journey to scour the land, acquire supplies, craft new tools and items, and stay united as a cohesive team to fend off the hostile winter and survive long enough until rescue comes.
inXile Entertainment and Techland Publishing today announced the release of new content additions for Torment: Tides of Numenera. Chief among these features is the inclusion of an additional companion, Oom (“The Toy”).

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now set to launch Spring 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Rockstar cites the game was delayed to “ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans. We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer.”
In the meantime, Rockstar released new screenshots from the world of Red Dead Redemption 2.

LawBreakers from Cliff Bleszinski’s Boss Key Productions is coming to PlayStation 4, with additional enhancements for PS4 Pro. Today, Nexon also revealed its business model for the game which sees the base game starting at $29.99. In addition, the company confirmed that there will be no season pass-style program and that all future content updates will be free. Also, there are no “pay-to-win” mechanics in the game, just an offering of cosmetics for players to earn via the game’s Stash-Box system.
LawBreakers will now launch simultaneously on PlayStation 4 and Steam later this year, but no release date has been announced at this time.
Kalypso Media today announced the launch of a Steam beta testing campaign for upcoming strategy title Sudden Strike 4, available to all Steam pre-purchase customers starting…now. As an added bonus, Steam pre-purchase customers will also receive immediate access to the original Sudden Strike Trilogy completely free, also launching on Steam today for the very first time, complete with new cloud saving support.
The beta will run all the way to the game’s full release on August 11th, offering pre-purchase customers a first look at Sudden Strike 4, with access to the game’s tutorial, three singleplayer missions (Battle of the Bulge, Stalingrad and Balaton Defensive Operation) and two multiplayer/skirmish maps. Testers will also have exclusive access to the Beta Test Forum on Steam, where they can submit feedback and bug reports to the developers as they continue to polish the game in the run up to launch.
Atari today announced a three-year license extension for RollerCoaster Tycoon through the year 2022. The new deal with RollerCoaster Tycoon creator, Chris Sawyer, provides for investment and expansion of the series; the extension also applies to Atari’s ancillary rights to the franchise. The extension comes on the heels of the recent success of two mobile games, RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic and RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch.
The NPD Group has released its retail report for the month of April 2017. Both software and hardware sales were up year-over-year in April by 6% and 37%, respectively. Overall, total industry sales were up 10% to $636 million. For the second month in a row, Nintendo Switch was the top-selling console.

Tripwire Interactive announced today the official release date for Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, the sequel to Rising Storm. The game will be available to play on May 30th. Fans who pre-ordered should be able to pre-load before that. The game will also be available to buy via Steam, at a 10% discount for the day, with the Standard Edition available for $24.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition priced at $29.99 normally.
To celebrate the impending release of Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, Tripwire Interactive and developer Antimatter Games are kicking off an Open Beta that begins today and runs until 4:00PM ET on Monday, May 22nd. This will act just like a Free Weekend – head for the Steam Store page, download and play!
Tripwire Interactive is also including a new “goodie” for Killing Floor 2 PC owners who pre-order or buy the Rising Storm 2: Vietnam Digital Deluxe Edition. They will receive four bonus Rising Storm 2: Vietnam themed weapons skins to use in Killing Floor 2 for the PC. Those weapon skins include the RPG-7 rocket launcher, the M16 with M203 grenade launcher attachment, the M1911 automatic pistol and the classic Lever Action Rifle. Note – the weapon skins will be available as part of Killing Floor 2’s next major update which will be announced at a later date.
