Tokyo Xanada Now Available

Aksys Games and Nihon Falcom today released the action RPG Tokyo Xanadu for the PlayStation Vita.

10 years ago, a colossal earthquake devastated Tokyo and changed the lives of its inhabitants forever. The city has since been rebuilt and life has slowly returned to a semblance of normalcy. However, behind the veil of this newly rebuilt metropolis lies another world, one with a sinister secret. The earthquake that originally destroyed Tokyo was actually caused by the emergence of a mysterious and lethal shadow world known as Eclipse. Now, action must be taken to thwart the legions of Eclipse and ensure the protection of peace.

LawBreakers Open Beta Event Kicks Off Today

Nexon America and Boss Key Productions announced the PC beta for LawBreakers is open to all players starting today at 12:00 p.m. EST. The PC beta event ends July 5th. Visit LawBreakers.com to get started.

The beta includes:

  • New Map: Vertigo – located in a remote location in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Vertigo is a high-altitude reconnaissance outpost with near suborbital elevation;
  • New Mode: Uplink – capture the uplink in the center of the map and deliver to your team base, continuing to protect it until points are earned;
  • Weapon Stickers – players can test a new customization feature and earn a special Beta participant Weapon Sticker by completing five matches during the event. This reward transfers to the full release of the game at launch.

Raiders of the Broken Planet – Developer Diary #3

MercurySteam have released the third developer diary for Raiders of the Broken Planet that focuses on one big question the team have been asking themselves – does the world need another shooter? The answer of course is yes, but it needs to be an innovative take on the genre. In this multi-part developer diary, Game Designer Joan Amat and Gameplay Programmer Hernan Ojuel guide us through the basics of Raiders of the Broken Planet. They take a deep dive into the game’s features: its characters, abilities, perk systems and weapons before they jump into 4-player co-op match that gets invaded by an antagonist in the following episode. In addition, the developer diary delves deeper into the role of the antagonist, not only in the story but how the counter-operative adds to the overall adventure aspect of the game.

Team17 to Publish Sword Legacy: Omen

Team17 today announced its partnership with Brazil-based indie developers Firecast Studio and Fableware Narrative Design to publish Sword Legacy: Omen, a turn-based tactical RPG with a dark, cartoon-inspired aesthetic.

Sword Legacy: Omen is set in the candlepunk realm of Broken Britannia, a once-thriving kingdom full of alchemical and technological advances now fragmented by intrigue and deceit. As the vengeful knight, Uther, and his misfit band of companions, players will embark on a journey to locate the long-lost Excalibur.

Sword Legacy: Omen will launch on PC in 2017.

Paradox Interactive today announced it has acquired Triumph Studios, the creators of the Age of Wonders and Overlord series. Following the acquisition, the current team and management will all remain with Triumph Studios. All ongoing projects will remain in development, and will be published by Paradox Interactive.

2K Announces Kurt Angle as WWE 2K18 Pre-Order Bonus

2K today announced that WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle will return to WWE in-ring action for the first time in more than a decade – virtually – through WWE 2K18. Angle will appear in WWE 2K18 through two playable characters representing key milestones in his career: his WWE “American Hero” persona, as well as his ECW “Wrestling Machine” persona. The playable characters will be available as bonus content for those who pre-order the game at participating retailers. WWE 2K18 is scheduled for release on October 17th for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
