RAID: World War II Coming to PC in September, PS4 and Xbox One in October

Prepare to fight dirty and dictate new world disorder with RAID: World War II as Starbreeze, Lion Game Lion and 505 Games today revealed release dates for the game, starring John Cleese as the British intelligence officer Control. Coming to PC on September 26th and digital and physical retail formats on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this October, the four-player cooperative first-person shooter is set during the terrifying time when the German war machine was tearing through Europe, and hope was in short supply.

Thimbleweed Park Coming to PS4 on August 22nd, Switch in September

Four months into the Thimbleweed Park murder investigation, the oddball residents of this remote town still aren’t too bothered by that dead body pixelating under the bridge. Why not? Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 owners will soon find out.

As revealed on the PlayStation Blog, the PS4 version will release August 22nd as a download from the PlayStation Store. The PS4 controls will be similar to the existing gamepad controls with a few added refinements that take advantage of the DualShock 4 Controller’s unique features.

On Nintendo Switch, Thimbleweed Park will support both Joy-Con controllers and touch screen controls so players can easily switch between tabletop, handheld, and TV modes. The game will be available via the Nintendo eShop in September.

Fantasy Strike Free Demo Weekend

A pre-alpha build of the fighting game Fantasy Strike is available for free this weekend. Developed by Sirlin Games, Fantasy Strike will launch for PlayStation 4 and PC in late 2018.

The free period will take place beginning August 11th at 11am PT and end on August 14th at 11:59pm PT. Simply download the Free Weekend build of the game, unzip it, then run the Fantasy Strike app. The builds are available for download here. The app will not function before or after the Free Weekend period.

The pre-alpha build will provide full access to eight playable characters and four stages. Online quick match play supporting cross-play between PC and Mac gamers, a local versus mode, a full-featured training mode and an arcade mode will be available in this preview. It includes many changes since the last free weekend event, including faster pacing, a dedicated button for throwing, smoother online play (using GGPO networking), balance changes, and several graphics improvements.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Coming to Nintendo 3DS

The fourth game in the courtroom drama series, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, is coming to the Nintendo 3DS for the first time. Originally launched for the Nintendo DS in 2008, this latest announcement means that all six of the mainline Ace Attorney titles can be experienced on the Nintendo 3DS. Court will be in session this November when Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney will be available to download on the Nintendo eShop for $19.99.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Closed Beta Dates Confirmed

Square Enix confirmed today that the Closed Beta Test for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will run from Friday, August 25th through Sunday, September 3rd on the PlayStation 4. Players have until Sunday, August 20th to register online for a chance to participate in the Closed Beta Test. Selected applicants will receive an e-mail containing more information.

Fans can also look forward to playing as Blitzball legend and Final Fantasy X antagonist Jecht, who will be making his debut in the game when it releases next year.

Atari Announces Tempest 4000

Atari today announced Tempest 4000, a shooter based on the classic arcade game, Tempest, will be available this holiday season on current generation consoles and PC. Developed by game designer Jeff Minter, Tempest 4000 remains faithful to the original, while adding new features and updated graphics.

In Tempest 4000, players are once again in control of the Claw, a powerful spacecraft equipped to destroy deadly creatures and other obstructions with rapid-fire shots on vibrant geometric prisms.
