CCP Games today launched Sparc, the competitive virtual reality game on PlayStation VR. In Sparc, players connect online to compete in fast-paced and physical one-on-one gameplay, using two PlayStation Move motion controllers to throw projectiles across the court at their opponent while dodging, blocking or deflecting incoming shots. PS VR owners can download Sparc now for $29.99 from the PlayStation Store.
First featured in the film Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’, the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (SSGSS) form of Goku and Vegeta pushes their power, strength, and speed beyond the known limits of Super Saiyan levels. SSGSS Goku and Vegeta are available as part of an early unlock offer for players who pre-order Dragon Ball FighterZ, which will available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam in early 2018.
Atlus and ACE Team today announced that Rock of Ages 2: Bigger & Boulder is now available digitally on PC via Steam and PlayStation 4. The game will launch on Xbox One tomorrow. In this part tower defense, part racing, part art history lesson, players navigate artistic worlds, taking turns in defensive and offensives roles in an attempt to bash open the enemy’s castle and stomp them into a historical footnote.
Larian Studios today released a brand new trailer for Divinity: Original Sin 2, showing the game in its final state. Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be available on September 14th for PC.
Human Head Studios today revealed Rune: Ragnarok, a sandbox, open-world RPG set in a Norse universe during the end of days. A follow-up to Rune, the team’s action-adventure game, Rune: Ragnarok places players in the middle of a battle where gods, beasts, and the last remaining humans struggle to survive.
By pledging allegiance to one of the Norse gods, players gain favor and special abilities to aid them as they raid enemy villages, fight the undead in melee combat, sail to new lands, and craft weapons to complete the goals of their god and conclude Ragnarok.
DotEmu today released the launch trailer for the retro cult-hit Windjammers, which makes its debut on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita tomorrow, August 29th. Originally released on the NEOGEO arcade system, Windjammers is a head-to-head arcade game where two players face off on a court, and throw discs at the opponent’s goal zone to score points. The player with the most points wins.

Nintendo is bringing three tournaments to this year’s Fan Expo Canada. At Nintendo’s booth on the Fan Expo show floor, attendees can watch players compete in invitational tournaments for Splatoon 2 and Pokkén Tournament DX. Plus, Fan Expo attendees will have the chance to qualify in an ARMS tournament on Saturday, September 2nd.
Pokkén Tournament DX Invitational – Saturday, September 2nd at 12:00 p.m.
Four Canadian gamers will step into the arena and battle to become the Ferrum League champion in Pokkén Tournament DX – weeks before the game launches for Nintendo Switch on September 22nd. Players will participate in a round-robin tournament, followed by a best-of-three, single-elimination semifinal stage and a best-of-five championship.
ARMS Tournament – Saturday, September 2nd at 2:00 p.m.
Fan Expo attendees can put their fighting skills to the test in an ARMS battle. Participation in this tournament is open to Fan Expo attendees – qualifying games will be held at the Nintendo booth beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2nd (a limited number of spaces are available in the qualifying round). Eight participants selected during qualifying will do battle in a single-elimination bracketed tournament for the chance to be crowned the ARMS Tournament champion.
Splatoon 2 Inkling Invitational – Sunday, September 3rd at 3:00 p.m.
Fan Expo attendees can witness competitors battle for ink-splatting glory in the Splatoon 2 Inkling Invitational. During this tournament, four Splatoon 2 teams will battle each other in a round-robin Turf War tournament. A single-elimination semifinals and final round will determine which Splatoon 2 team will reign supreme.
Fan Expo Canada runs from August 31 – September 3rd, 2017 at Toronto’s Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
