Bandai Namco today released a new trailer for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown featuring PlayStation VR Mode gameplay. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will be available in 20178 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
Zen Studios today announced that Pinball FX3 will hit the Nintendo Switch on November 14th. Pinball FX3 takes full advantage of the Switch’s capabilities with exclusive features like vertical play orientation and HD rumble support. Thirty tables are available at launch, with more playable content and features to be added in the months to come.
Canada’s video game industry continues to cement its role as a pillar of Canada’s new tech economy, according to new research conducted by Nordicity and published today by the Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESAC). There are now nearly 600 active video game studios in Canada, generating 21,700 direct full-time jobs and contributing $3.7 billion to the country’s GDP, a 24% increase from 2015. The industry also supports an additional 18,900 indirect full-time jobs, accounting for a total employment impact of 40,600 full-time equivalent positions.
The Canadian video game industry creates high-paying and desirable jobs, offering an average salary of $77,300/year. Canadian studios continue to lead the industry with marquis franchise titles, new original IP and critically-acclaimed games that are pushing the boundaries of conventional norms. Overall, 2,100 video game projects were completed in Canada in 2016.
Little Orbit today announced it has partnered with Descendent Studios, the Austin-based developers of Descent: Underground, a reboot of the classic full-freedom shooter Descent. Under the agreement, Little Orbit will publish and distribute the game by expanding distribution of Descent: Underground to include retail boxed copies and console versions for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in addition to PC.
With Black Friday quickly approaching, Nintendo is offering two items that will make it easier for people of all ages to get in on the fun and adventure of The Legend of Zelda series this holiday season.
The first is a Link green Nintendo 2DS system with bright orange buttons that comes pre-installed with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D game at a SRP of $79.99. The second is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Explorer’s Edition, a bundle that includes the Nintendo Switch game, a 100-page explorer’s guide and a two-sided map at a SRP of $59.99.
MunkyFun today confirmed the November 7th launch date for League of War: VR Arena, a new arena-based arcade war game based on its League of War strategy game franchise, on PlayStation VR. In the action-oriented strategy game, players will fight quick battles against AI opponents in single-player mode or a human opponent in two-player mode. The game’s head-to-head mode has a unique twist, as shown in this video released by Sony: the VR player will engage in strategic combat against a non-VR opponent playing on the Social Screen in the same room for a combination of classic local multiplayer and modern VR.
Microïds and Eden Games today announced that Gear.Club Unlimited will be released on November 21st for download from the Nintendo eShop and as a temporary exclusive at Gamestop in its boxed version, only in the United States and Canada. To celebrate the news, players can discover new features in the latest trailer for the racing simulation game.
XSEED Games today announced that Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection, from RPG developer Nihon Falcom, is now available on PC via Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store by Humble Bundle with a 10% off launch discount from its regular price of $29.99. NIS America today released The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 Heed the Call Trailer, introducing the story setting, Kevala. Follow the Hundred Knight as you defend and serve both Amalie, an agent of an anti-witch organization; and Amalie’s younger sister, Milm, now awakened as the witch Chelka, while uncovering the mysteries of a witch-ravaged world.
The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 is arriving exclusively for the PlayStation 4 in 2018.
DICE have made changes to crates and progression based on player’s feedback. The Star Wars Battlefront II beta gave the developer a chance to test all of their systems in action and tune things up for better balance. A few weeks ago, DICE mentioned they were going to take another look at how the progression system works and after incorporating community feedback, they’re happy to share their plans for launch:
DICE will be continuously looking at player feedback to help fine tune and improve this system and others in the game, as they’re committed to keeping the community together including releasing all post-launch content for free.
