THQ Nordic Acquires Biomutant Developer Experiment 101

THQ Nordic announced today that it has acquired 100% of the shares from Experiment 101, as well as the intellectual property of Biomutant, the open-word, post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu fable RPG, which is now part of the THQ Nordic portfolio. Experiment 101 is currently working on Biomutant for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Nintendo Systems Again Top Hardware Sales for October

According to the NPD Group, which tracks U.S. video game sales, the Nintendo Switch was the top-selling video game hardware in October, followed by the Super NES Classic Edition in the No. 2 spot. When combined with the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo systems accounted for two-thirds of all video game hardware sold for the second month in a row. The video game industry achieved hardware sales of more than 1 million total units in October for the first time since 2011. Super Mario Odyssey for Nintendo Switch emerged as the top-selling video game of the month on the NPD sales chart.

Cococucumber Announces Riverbond for PlayStation 4

Indie developer Cococucumber announced today that its upcoming voxel couch co-op title, Riverbond, will release on PlayStation 4 in 2018 (as well as PC). A new demo of Riverbond will be playable for the first time on PS4 this December at PlayStation Experience in Anaheim, California.

Episode Three of Batman: The Enemy Within Premieres November 21st

Telltale Games today shared the official trailer for episode three of Batman: The Enemy Within, ‘Fractured Mask,’ which launches November 21st on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

After an unexpected reunion, Bruce finds his attention (and his loyalties) stretched in yet another direction. Now, in addition to brokering a power struggle between Commissioner Gordon and Amanda Waller, Bruce must balance romantic entanglements with his mission to infiltrate the Pact. Middle-earth: Shadow of War Free Content Update & Features Announced

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced various free content updates and features coming this year to Middle-earth: Shadow of War, including:

  • Endless Siege – Defend your fortresses against Sauron’s forces as the Dark Lord tries to reclaim Mordor in the Endless Siege. (Available Nov. 21st)
  • Rebellion – Crush the rebel Ologs and Uruks in your forces as they seek to undermine the Bright Lord. (Available Nov. 21st)
  • Enhanced Photo Mode – Capture every battle and siege and apply new filters, frames and textures with the Enhanced Photo Mode update. (Available Nov. 21st)
  • Online Fight Pits – Challenge another player’s Orc follower, Overlord vs. Overlord, to a fight to the death in the arena to earn rewards and upgrades. (Available Dec. 5th)
  • Brutal Difficulty – A new higher difficulty level even more challenging than Nemesis with no last chances. (Available Dec. 12th)

Additionally, release dates have now been announced for the Slaughter Tribe Nemesis Expansion (Available Nov. 21st) and the Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion (Available Dec. 12th), both of which are part of the Middle-earth: Shadow of War Expansion Pass.
