Team17 today announced that the game Golf With Your Friends has joined Team17’s games label. The partnership sees Team17 become involved, as a full creative partner in all aspects of development as well as publishing on their games label. Golf With Your Friends is currently available in Steam Early Access.
Today, Ubisoft fully revealed Special Operation 4 for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, the last free major update for the second year of post-launch content. Special Operation 4 will be released tomorrow, February 27th, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The update will contain a brand-new PvE mode: Guerrilla, the new Sapper PvP class and several requested features from the community.
Guerrilla Mode expands on the game’s PvE experience with a unique challenge testing players’ endurance, skills and tactics. Solo or up to four Ghosts, players will need to defend key locations against increasingly deadly waves of Cartel and Unidad members. After each completed wave, players will have the opportunity to purchase and upgrade weapons, skills and attachments with resources gathered from dead enemies. Each choice will be impactful and strategy will be essential to overcome the challenge.

In line with previous Year 2 updates, Ghost Recon: Wildlands will continue to receive community-requested features and improvements, including time of day setting for Solo Campaign Mode, a new bleeding notification in Ghost War, the addition of the compass HUD option to PvE, as well as the introduction of daily campaign challenges with increased rewards. Finally, Special Operation 4 will add a new Heatmap view, thanks to which players will be able to see the most visited locations in the Wildlands and discover some they may never have seen before.
Legendary Entertainment and Herbert Properties have reached a licensing agreement with Funcom to develop video games based on the works of Frank Herbert’s Dune, one of the world’s best-known science fiction universes. Development will begin in Funcom’s Oslo studio later this year.
The announcement comes as Legendary gears up for its film adaptation of Dune, directed by filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, and featuring an all-star cast that now includes Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa and Javier Bardem.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and IO Interactive today announced that the Hitman 2 – Starter Pack is available now for free, allowing all players to experience the full Hawke’s Bay (New Zealand) location along with the opening campaign mission “Nightcall” and the many challenges and unlocks within that environment. Set against the backdrop of Hawke’s Bay’s moonlit beaches and roaring waves, gamers can begin their journey into the World of Assassination as Agent 47 tries to infiltrate a luxurious oceanside property. All progression earned from playing this location will carry over into the full game.
Additionally, Elusive Target No. 4, entitled “The Politician,” will be available beginning March 8th and end on March 17th within the Hawke’s Bay location, therefore owners of Hitman 2 and players who downloaded the free Starter Pack can participate in the limited, one-time opportunity to take out Dame Barbara Elizabeth Keating (a.k.a. “The Politician”). Dame Barbara is a disgraced former New Zealand Minister of Trade and Foreign Affairs who was forced to resign after the discovery of her charity funneling funds to her offshore interests. After shifting the blame to the charity’s director and wiping her hands clean, Dame Barbara is currently building back her reputation to restore her standing, and she is believed to be working with a body double to protect herself at public events. Players will have 10 days to complete the mission.

Paradox Interactive and Tantalus Media have today launched Stellaris: Console Edition for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. An adaption of Stellaris, the sci-fi grand strategy game, Stellaris: Console Edition features a redesigned user interface created to provide an authentic grand strategy experience on consoles for the first time. In addition, multiplayer will be available in-game for all players this Spring.
Bandai Namco today announced that the new DLC episode for Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, The Tale of a Timeless Tome, will be available on March 19th for PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. The new episode will include new memories of Evan’s friends, more fighting methods, new locations, and characters.

The Season of the Dragon has officially taken flight as ZeniMax Online Studios officially released the latest DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online – a two-dungeon DLC Game Pack called Wrathstone for PC. Update 21, a free update that brings a series of improvements and new features, also dropped for PC. Wrathstone is set to release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 12th.
