The Fellowship Rises in LEGO The Lord of the Rings

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released LEGO The Lord of the Rings Developer Diary #2: The Fellowship Rises, showing how TT Games is bringing the characters and events of The Lord of the Rings films to life in a video game. LEGO The Lord of the Rings will be available on October 30th for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo DS and 3DS, PlayStation Vita, and PC.

Terraria Teaser Trailer

505 Games has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network version of Terraria. Already a hit for the PC, the block-building game will be making its console debut soon, including brand new content for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network players.

Free Costume Pack for Dead or Alive 5

Team Ninja today released downloadable content for Dead or Alive 5. Available now for free download via the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace, Costume Pack 1 opens up a variety of new costumes that add even more flash and sizzle to select fighters on the DOA 5 roster.

Among the staple Dead or Alive characters who see updated threads courtesy of Costume Pack 1: Kokoro, who gets a new festival outfit; Zack, with a new alien costume; Helena, who reveals her swallowtail outfit; and Bayman, rocking a new beret. The master Gen Fu steps out in his new Tiger Kung Fu uniform, Christie gets even hotter in her new leather gear, Tina dons a new blue ring outfit, and the all-new character Mila takes on a little cosplay. Even the included Virtua Fighter characters, Akira, Sarah and Pai, see a whole new round of costume updates.

New Little King’s Story Released

Konami today announced that New Little King’s Story is now available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation Vita. The classic RPG comes to the handheld system for the first time, featuring enhanced graphics and features.

Final Hours of Tomb Raider: Origins of a Story

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have released the second in their series of Final Hours of Tomb Raider: Origins of a Story. Hosted by Zachary Levi, this episode dives into the heart of Tomb Raider through an exploration of character development and narrative. Featuring lead writer Rhianna Pratchett, narrative designer John Stafford, and creative director Noah Hughes, the trio elaborate on the responsibility of reimagining Lara Croft. Tomb Raider is slated to launch on March 5th, 2013.

Command & Conquer The Ultimate Collection Released

Electronic Arts announced that Command & Conquer The Ultimate Collection, a compilation of all 17 games in the real-time strategy franchise, is available today at retailers nationwide and digitally on Origin. Updated for Windows 7 and Windows Vista, Command & Conquer The Ultimate Collection is available for $49.99 and will also give strategy gamers early access to the upcoming beta for the new Command & Conquer coming in 2013.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Khyber Strike DLC Announced

Ubisoft today announced the Khyber Strike DLC pack, the third Ghost Recon: Future Soldier DLC package. Khyber Strike will feature three new multiplayer maps, a new multiplayer game mode called “Takeover,” a new Guerrilla Mode co-op map, new achievements, and an increased level cap. Khyber Strike will be available for download on October 9th on Xbox 360 and PLayStation 3 for $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points.

Khyber Strike DLC features:

• 3 new multiplayer maps
  • Switchback: Step off the main road leading down into the city and into a maze of ancient buildings and narrow alleys. The twists and turns of the alleyways turn every corner into a close-quarters deathtrap.
  • Palace: There’s no time for reflection even in this magnificent relic. What once was a museum dedicated to showing the glories of the past is now a battlefield, with a massive courtyard at the heart of its contested ground.
  • Transit: A Moscow metro station makes for close quarters and close-range combat. Trains pulling into and out of the station add to the danger as Ghosts and Bodark slug it out underground.
• 1 new multiplayer game mode: “Takeover”
  • Similar to a classic team deathmatch, score points for your team by eliminating enemies. Tip the scales by taking control of the enemy’s objective and earn a score multiplier to your team. Defend your team’s objective to prevent the enemy from gaining the same advantage. Choose to split your team to defend and attack at the same time, or move as a group and overwhelm your enemy. When the mission ends, the team with highest score wins.
• 1 Guerrilla Mode map “Village” (4 players online / 2 players in local split screen)
  • A peaceful country village finds itself transformed into a battleground, as fighting rages around its central bus station. Long alleyways that run between war-damaged buildings make a perfect hunting ground for snipers, and a shootout near the town’s gas station could turn explosive.

The Walking Dead – Episode 4 Trailer

Telltale Games has released the official trailer for The Walking Dead: Episode Four – Around Every Corner. The episode will be launching later this month on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, followed shortly by the finale in Episode Five, ‘No Time Left.’ Each episode, together as a five part series, will also be launching at retail later this year.
