Creative Assembly has released the first behind the scenes look at Total War: Rome II. “The Unmaking of Carthage” developer diary reveals some of the thinking behind the new tactical map and combined naval and land battle features. Total War: Rome II will be available for PC in Fall 2013.
Bethesda Softworks today announced that RAGE: The Scorchers, the official add-on pack for id Software’s first-person shooter, is now available on Xbox 360 and PC for $4.99 (400 Microsoft Points) and will be available later today on PlayStation 3.
In The Scorchers, battle an all-new maniacal bandit clan, wreak havoc with new weapons and explore undiscovered areas. Fight alongside new allies to thwart the Scorcher clan’s deadly plot to destroy the Wasteland. The add-on pack also includes ‘Ultra-Nightmare’, a new high difficulty mode, as well as an ‘Extended Play’ option that allows you to play past the original ending of the game – giving you the opportunity to finish collecting items and achievements.
Paradox Interactive has released a movie-style trailer for its multiplayer combat title, The Showdown Effect, where fast-paced combat meets over-the-top movie clichés. Danger Close Games today announced that the Medal of Honor Warfighter Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack is now available on Origin.com. This coincides with the release of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s new film, Zero Dark Thirty, directed and produced by Academy Award winner Kathryn Bigelow, in limited release on December 19th. The pack will be available December 18th on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.
The Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack includes two new multiplayer maps inspired by two of the most dangerous locations in the world – Darra and Chitral. The first map, Darra Gun Market, is based on Pakistan’s flourishing arms bazaar, which is the largest illegal arms market in the world. The second map, Chitral Compound, is a remote, rugged area governed by tribes which won’t allow the Pakistani army to operate. The Medal of Honor Warfighter Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack will also include six new weapon configurations, 14 new weapon camouflage skins and 10 new multiplayer ranks.
Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have released a new “Guide to Survival” video series for Tomb Raider. The first episode explores how Lara will use the “Basecamp” system to upgrade her skills and gear, her “Survival Instinct” to explore on the island, and her signature weapon, the bow. Tomb Raider will be available on March 5th for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
Sega has released a new trailer showcasing a trio of classic fighting games developed by AM2. Fighting Vipers, Sonic the Fighters and Virtua Fighter 2 are all available now for digital download on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade for $4.99 (400 Microsoft Points) each.
Capcom today announced that the PC version of Resident Evil 6 will be available as a digital download on March 22nd.
Resident Evil 6 PC will contain all the content found in the original console release plus any additions contained in any free title updates. Furthermore the digital version will take full advantage of Steam functionality by supporting cloud saving, Steam achievements, friends support, game overlay and leader boards.
Capcom also confirmed that a second free title update for the console version of Resident Evil 6 will be available on January 22nd.
Microsoft, Playground Games, and Turn 10 Studios announced that the Forza Horizon Rally Expansion Pack will be available to download starting tomorrow, December 18th on Xbox Live for 1600 Microsoft Points or as a free download for players who own the Forza Horizon Season Pass.

Today marks the 25th Anniversary of Mega Man, and Capcom is planning a year of activities to celebrate the iconic hero.
Kicking off the celebration is Street Fighter X Mega Man, a new free Mega Man game available for PC download beginning today. A true collaboration between a company and its fans, Street Fighter X Mega Man was created and developed by Singapore native Seow Zong Hui with direction and support provided by Capcom. The game stars Mega Man and features eight brand-new Street Fighter-themed levels and bosses inspired by the fighting game series. Each boss character will utilize their individual strategies and special moves against Mega Man, as players attempt to mega blast their way through each 8-bit world. Throughout the year, Capcom also plans to release the side-scrolling classics Mega Man to Mega Man 6 as downloads for Nintendo 3DS. Beginning December 27th with the original Mega Man, these 8-bit classics will be available in a staggered schedule into 2013.
Starting today, gamers can purchase new playable Guardians Bilbo Baggins and Bert the Troll in Guardians of Middle-earth. A free Shire Map Skin is available for download on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.
