Rocketbirds Launching on PS Vita Next Week

Ratloop Asia today announced that its cinematic platform adventure game, Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken, will arrive on the PlayStation Vita on February 12th.

The PlayStation 3 version has been amped up for the PlayStation Vita with notable differences including tilting screens, both Adhoc and Online Co-op, and two difficulty settings. The Vita version has a new end boss as well as improved graphics – several chapters have been modified to improve both graphics and flow.

Players who have already launched into Rocketbirds on the PlayStation 3 will be rewarded with two additional co-op characters, Sniper Budgie and Agent H. And to thank the fans who bought the PS3 game, Ratloop Asia will give them a discount when they buy the Vita game.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge Coming to Xbox 360, PS3

Tecmo Koei today announced that Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, the latest chapter in the action series, is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In the Team Ninja-developed title, Ryu Hayabusa must fight to lift a curse that threatens to destroy him. Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge features additional playable characters, a new gameplay mode, a redesigned battle system with enhanced enemy AI, a Ninja Skills upgrade system, expanded online features including bonus content, and a host of other features. The game is scheduled to launch both at retail and via digital download on April 2nd.

Assassin’s Creed III: The Tyranny of King Washington DLC Dated

Ubisoft today confirmed the release dates of all three upcoming episodes of Assassin’s Creed III: The Tyranny of King Washington. This all new single-player experience will let players discover an alternate history of the events following the American Revolution.

  • Episode 1: The Infamy will be available on Xbox 360 and PC on February 19 and on PlayStation 3 on February 20
  • Episode 2: The Betrayal will release on Xbox 360 and PC on March 19 and on PlayStation 3 on March 20
  • Episode 3 : The Redemption will be available on Xbox 360 and PC on April 23 and on PlayStation 3 on April 24

In the first episode of the Tyranny of King Washington series, our hero, Ratonhnhaké:ton, awakens from an unsettling dream to find that, despite his efforts to deliver justice in the newly-founded United States of America, a new king has been crowned – George Washington. The Infamy will take gamers through the beginning of the journey to dethrone King Washington.

The three upcoming episodes of the Tyranny of King Washington are available through the Assassin’s Creed III Season Pass, which is available for purchase for 2400 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live or $29.99 on the PlayStation Network and PC. Each episode of The Tyranny of King Washington will be available for purchase separately as a single DLC pack for 800 Microsoft Points or $9.99.

Special Forces: Team X Released

Microprose and Atari announced today that Special Forces: Team X is now available on Xbox Live Arcade and PC via Steam for $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points).

Developed by Zombie Studios, creators of the Blacklight series, Special Forces: Team X (STX) is a team-based tactical third-person shooter with a twist. Throwing customization fully into players’ hands, STX features a real-time map selection system where the battlefield is divided into three zones, with the layout of each determined by the teams prior to the match. Over one hundred possible combinations give every match a unique look and feel, for a constant tactical challenge.

Leviathan: Warships Announced

Paradox Interactive and developer Pieces Interactive today announced the forthcoming release of a new PC tactical action game, Leviathan: Warships.

In Leviathan: Warships, players will choose from a wide array of ship and weapon types to build a personalized fleet and fight battles in a blend of action and turn-based gameplay. Captains can take their time to plot out their turn, assigning moves and attacks to their ships, and then witness the battle as each fleet engages their maneuvers in simultaneous action sequences.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance PS3 Exclusive VR Missions

Konami has released a new Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance gameplay video featuring “Unmanned Gears” from the game.

Konami also confirmed PlayStation 3-exclusive DLC VR Missions for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, adding 30 all-new missions to the game featuring that classic VR/Virtual Reality look inspired by the original Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions.

Featuring a mix of combat training, tactical maneuvering, stealth-based approaches and more, these missions will both provide practice in which to hone your skills in original stages not seen in the game’s campaign. And, in an interesting twist, you’ll be able to take control of Dwarf Gekko in the VR Missions.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be available on February 19th for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Zen Studios Announces Star Wars Pinball

Zen Studios today announced Star Wars Pinball, a collection of tables developed with authentic Star Wars moments. The downloadable game, developed in partnership with LucasArts, will be available in February on a variety of digital platforms. The initial three-table pack will be themed around fan favorites including Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Each table features a different iconic moment from the Star Wars universe, with interactive 3D characters, and unique gameplay. With the first table release, players will take control of characters such as Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. Players will also be able to post their scores to global leaderboards, experience in-game friend challenges, local hotseat, online multiplayer, and a host of other features.

Star Wars Pinball will also be available as downloadable content for Pinball FX2 on Xbox Live Arcade and Windows 8, and Zen Pinball 2 on PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

CD Projekt RED today announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the final episode of the RPG series and the last part of the legend of Geralt of Rivia. The game will be released in 2014 simultaneously on all high-end platforms.

Injustice Battle Arena Invites Fans to Pick Their Champion

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced the details – and an invitation – to the ultimate battle of superhero supremacy for the upcoming fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us.

For the next 10 weeks, the roster of DC Comics characters will enter the Injustice Battle Arena. Each week, a new pair of challengers will enter the arena, as fans are given the opportunity to vote on who they believe would come out as champion.

Every Monday, combatants will be revealed in weekly match-up videos. Detailing the skills, attributes and technology of the week’s competing DC Comics warriors, the videos also include man-on-the-street and celebrity experts explaining which character in the battle has earned their vote.

All votes and submissions must be submitted by Thursday night, and the results will be announced in a final fight video, showing the all-out battles and ultimate victor of that week’s match-up. To vote on each week’s battle, visit injustice.dccomics.com.
