Sony Announces Apps Available on PS4 at Launch

Sony Computer Enterttainment today announced a line-up of digital entertainment apps that will be available on the PlayStation 4 in the U.S. beginning November 15th. All entertainment apps can be found in the PlayStation Store.

In addition to Sony’s own Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited, there will be a variety of digital entertainment apps available at launch, including:

  • Amazon Instant Video
  • Crackle
  • Crunchyroll
  • EPIX
  • Hulu Plus
  • NBA Game Time
  • Netflix
  • NHL GameCenter Live
  • Redbox Instant by Verizon

LocoCycle to Feature Live Action Performances

Twisted Pixel announced today that their latest buddy comedy adventure story, the upcoming Xbox One launch title LocoCycle, is told not only through its gameplay but also through live action performances featuring Freddy Rodriguez, James Gunn, Tom Savini, and the voiceover performances of Lisa Foiles and Robert Patrick.

Locoycle will be available as a digital Xbox One launch title on November 22nd for $19.99.

NBA Live 14 – LIVE Season and CourtQ Trailer

EA Sports has released a new trailer for NBA Live 14 providing the first details surrounding the connected experiences fans can expect in the game: LIVE Season and CourtQ. NBA Live 14 can provide not only player ratings and tendencies updates, but new challenges, new rewards and other new content throughout the season.

NBA Live 14 will be available on November 19th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f Coming to PS Vita

Sega today announced that Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f will be available for digital download on the PS Vita via PlayStation Network. Scheduled for release in early 2014, the PS Vita version will offer the same songs and features of the original PlayStation 3 version.

Scrambled Nations Map Pack Released for Civilization V

2K and Firaxis today announced the release of the Scrambled Nations map pack, the second of two packs for Sid Meier’s Civilization V. The Scrambled Nations map pack includes maps for the geographic regions of Canada, Australia, Japan, Scandinavia, Great Britain, France, Turkey, Italy, Russia and China. The geographic outlines of each nation are exact; however, special scripts produce randomized interiors each time a new game begins. The map pack is available for $4.99.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Collection Ships

Konami today announced that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Collection is now available in stores nationwide for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

As the trilogy comes to a conclusion in February with the release of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Collection brings the action of the first two titles in the ‘Lords of Shadow’ experience in one bundle.

The packaged compilation features the original Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. In addition, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD, the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 demo, and both the Reverie and Resurrection DLC packs will be available through an exclusive digital voucher code(s).

Civilization IV Designer Forms Mohawk Games

Game industry veteran and Civilization IV lead designer Soren Johnson today announced the creation of a new independent studio dedicated to building core strategy games, Mohawk Games. Johnson is joined by co-founder Dorian Newcomb, winner of a BAFTA award for his work as art director of Civilization V and Brad Wardell, the designer of the Galactic Civilizations series.

Financed by the Stardock Strategic Investment Fund, Mohawk is currently recruiting top game industry talent for the Baltimore-based studio. The company has already begun development on its first title, codenamed Mars, which runs on Oxide Games’ recently announced Nitrous engine.
