Electronic Arts and the UFC announced today that Sweden’s Alexander ‘The Mauler’ Gustafsson, the #1 UFC light heavyweight contender, is the winner of the EA Sports UFC Cover Vote. Gustafsson will share the first ever EA Sports UFC cover with current Light Heavyweight Champion, Jon ‘Bones’ Jones, who EA announced last month as the first cover athlete. EA Sports UFC will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Spring 2014.
EA and Ford are teaming up to provide a free in-game download of the all-new 2015 Mustang for Need for Speed Rivals on all platforms, available starting today. Players can choose from five customized designs for their game car – four of which received the most votes in Ford’s Mustang Customizer site, plus a special bonus design created Drift champion Vaughn Gittin Jr.
Team Ninja today today revealed the first details of the retro-stylized side-scrolling “Ninja Gaiden Z” Mode which will be included in the upcoming Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z. Additionally, in collaboration with comcept, “Beck” the main character of Keiji Infafune’s Mighty No.9 will make a cameo appearance in the form of an alternate costume for Yaiba. The DLC release of “Beck” will be followed by a Camouflage costume for Yaiba as well.
The new “Ninja Gaiden Z” Mode allows Yaiba’s over-the-top zombie chucking antics to spill over into an all-new 3D side-scrolling realm. Brought to life through classic 8-bit stylized cut screens and UI, this new mode will have Yaiba battling though hordes of elemental zombies, mechanized enemies, and other familiar baddies reminiscent of a certain 8-bit ninja’s plight (ahem) as he racks up more mad points with every kill.
To get through this side-scrolling gauntlet, Yaiba will have to push himself to his own limits employing all the dirty tricks of his trade. Whether it be by chain flail or cybernetic rocket punch, no amount of zombies have a prayer when face to face with Yaiba’s homicidal rage.
Fortunately for Yaiba, he will not be tackling this slaughterfest alone. Miss Monday, an engineer for Forge Industries who brought the pieces of Yaiba back to life with cybernetic enhancements, will be there making sure all of Yaiba’s cybernetics are operating at their peak performance levels as he tears through these hordes of zombies. Sure, she doesn’t really care too much about right, wrong or duty, but maybe because of this, she has an easier time dealing with Yaiba’s ”special” attitude.
Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on March 4th.
The latest content update for Forza Motorsport 5 is coming soon. This update will bring some feature additions to Forza 5, including new race modes such as drag racing and multiplayer “Tag.” In addition, this update will bring some adjustments to the Forza Motorsport 5 economy, including increasing the amount of credits earned for racing and lowering the prices of the best cars in the game. The update, which will also include numerous other game improvements, is currently in certification and awaiting final release.
Capcom Vancouver today unveiled Operation Eagle, the first Dead Rising 3 DLC installment to the Untold Stories of Los Perdidos. This episode puts you in control of Spec Ops Commander Adam Kane on a mission that challenges everything he believes and sets him out to capture the missing President of the United States. Operation Eagle features a new mission, five new weapons, one new combo weapon, one new vehicle, a new clothing outfit, plus additional Gamerscore and the ability to carry experience points back to Dead Rising 3.
Capcom Vancouver also revealed a free Dead Rising 3 demo on Xbox One. Explore the zombie-infested district of Ingleton within Los Perdidos for weapon blueprints, and combo weapons and vehicles to help you kill as many zombies as you can. The 20-minute timed sandbox can be experienced up to two times per gamertag.
Focus Home Interactive and Spiders Studios have released a story trailer for Bound by Flame, revealing more about the role-playing game’s world and background.
Bound by Flame is scheduled for a Spring 2014 release on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The NPD Group has released its report for the month of November. While software sales were down 24% year over year, hardware sales were up 58% and overall retail sales were up 7% year over year.
November 2013 was the best November ever for hardware sales. The PlayStation 4 was the top selling platform of the month, Xbox One the second best and fastest selling platform of the month (101,000 units per day), while Nintendo 3DS hardware unit sales have increased 15% year-to-date through November. Sales of Wii U hardware increased by more than 340% over sales in October after the price of the console was cut in September.

Namco Bandai today announced the Japanese 20th anniversary commemorative title, Tales of Zestiria, the latest entry in the Tales Of role-playing game franchise, will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 3 in 2014.
Tales of Zestiria returns to the series roots of a fantasy setting with character designs being handled by all four series designers; Mutsumi Inomata, Kosuke Fujishima, Daigo Okumura, and Minoru Iwamoto. ufotable will also return to create the game’s animated cut scenes and opening movie.
Telltale Games has released the official trailer for The Walking Dead: Season Two premiere episode, ‘All That Remains,’ which will be arriving for download on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC later this month.
