Milestone announced today the release of MXGP 2020, the newest chapter of the official FIM Motocross World Championship, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam. A version for PlayStation 5 will be available on January 14th. MXGP 2020 is the only game where players can fully experience the current MXGP season, competing with 68 riders from both MXGP and MX2 categories on the 19 circuits of the 2020 season. Starting as a rookie, players can choose their path to glory: joining an official team or creating their own.
According to the NPD Group, which tracks video game sales, the combined sales of the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite hit over 148,000 units in Canada in the month of November. With these strong sales numbers, Nintendo Switch achieved another milestone as the best-selling video game console in Canada for a record-breaking 25 consecutive months.
Today, Nintendo unveiled a new Indie World Showcase presentation, which includes some notable surprises in its upcoming game launch calendar. Highlights of the video include Among Us, the social-deduction survival game, which launches for Nintendo Switch later today. Other featured games in today’s showcase include Super Meat Boy Forever, the sequel to Super Meat Boy arriving December 23rd as a console launch exclusive, and Spelunky and Spelunky 2, the cavernous exploration platformers, both of which are coming to Nintendo Switch in Summer 2021.
Today, Ubisoft announced that Hyper Scape will release on Epic Games Store on December 17th. In addition, console crossplay is now available alongside Hyper Scape’s Winter Festival. Along with these major updates, new improvements have been made to the Team Deathmatch Mode (Beta) that was recently added to Hyper Scape, but also to combat, Arcadium free roam mode, and the marketplace as part of the Title Update that released December 10th.
Today, IO Interactive released the opening cinematic for Hitman 3, revealing the stakes of the journey as Agent 47 and Lucas Grey make their way to Dubai. Hitman 3 will be available on January 20th for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC. The game will also be coming to Nintendo Switch, playable via cloud streaming technology.
Square Enix today announced the launch of Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend for the Nintendo Switch. In this digital collection, players can experience the first three titles in th eSaGa series – The Final Fantasy Legend, Final Fantasy Legend II, and Final Fantasy Legend III. In addition, the collection brings several quality-of-life adjustments and new features to improve the gameplay experience, including character speed boosts, adjustable screen magnification, a retro display mode, commemorative music and illustrations.
Rockstar Games today announced that the biggest update to GTA Online yet, The Cayo Perico Heist, is now available to download free.
The Madrazo crime family have a problem with one of their suppliers – the infamous drug lord, El Rubio, who is threatening extortion unless they renegotiate their terms. It’s up to players to find a way to infiltrate El Rubio’s heavily secured private island home of Cayo Perico, and escape with his incriminating files, and all the gold, art and cash as they can carry – all while making it back to Los Santos in one piece.
The Cayo Perico Heist will feature three new radio stations: Still Slipping Los Santos from UK DJ Joy Orbison; Kult FM hosted by Julian Casablancas of The Strokes and The Voidz featuring Mac DeMarco, David Cross and Tony Mac; and Music Locker Radio, bringing the club sounds of Moodymann, Keinemusik and Palms Trax to the airwaves of Los Santos. The Cayo Perico Heist also features major updates to existing stations, Worldwide FM with Gilles Peterson and FlyLo FM from Flying Lotus for a total of 250+ new tracks.
The Cayo Perico Heist also introduces an array of new weapons and vehicles including a new heavily armed Submarine, plus a host of new updates across the entire world.
Beginning December 18th, a Nintendo Switch Online membership will grant players access to the entire Super NES trilogy of Donkey Kong Country games when Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble! arrives for the Nintendo Switch. In addition, The Ignition Factor, Super Valis IV and Tuff E Nuff are joining the SNES – Nintendo Switch Online library as well. The NES – Nintendo Switch Online collection is also receiving the enigmatic crime caper Nightshade.
With Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood releasing on February 4th, NACON and Cyanide unveiled a 6-minute gameplay video featuring the game’s exploration, stealth and action. For the release of this video, Julien “Patch” Desourteaux, Game Director at Cyanide, provides insight into the game’s development, and its roots in the World of Darkness – a shared story universe where supernatural beings roam hidden from human’s sight.
Activision today released the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season One Battle Pass trailer. The 100 tiers of the Season One Battle Pass include the new Operator “Stitch,” two free weapons, four fresh mixtapes for Wartracks, up to 1,300 Call of Duty Points and more.
