Crystal Dynamics today announced that the Icy Death pack for Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is now available to download, and contains a new tomb filled with puzzles and enemies. The pack also includes new weapons, rings, amulets, and a skin for Lara, which is going to look familiar for fans of Tomb Raider 2013.
Paradox Interactive and Obsidian Entertainment today announced that Pillars of Eternity, the RPG funded directly by fans, has a firm release date set for March 26th.
As the game nears completion, a selection of never-before-seen content from Pillars of Eternity will be revealed via a live stream, hosted by Josh Sawyer, the game’s Project Director. Sawyer will take viewers on a journey through the world of Pillars of Eternity to show what has been accomplished since the release of the backer beta. Atlus has released a new video for Etrian Odyssey Dungeon, showcasing the Landsknecht swordsman class. The roguelike RPG from Spike Chunsoft will be available beginning April 7th exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
Sega today announced that Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX, a 3D rhythm game developed specifically for the Nintendo 3DS, will be available on store shelves and via digital download on May 26th. Sega will release information about retailer preorder programs at a later date.
Bandai Namco announced today that Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy+ is scheduled to launch on February 13th for the Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL. The New Nintendo 3DS XL C-stick, and ZL/ZR buttons will allow for better control and handling of the aircraft’s movement and weaponry.
During a Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo announced that the New Nintendo 3DS XL system will launch in Canada on February 13th for $229.99. New Nintendo 3DS XL offers a number of new enhancements, including a wider range of controls with the addition of a C Stick and ZL/ZR buttons, 3D via face-tracking technology and built-in NFC functionality that allows for communication with amiibo figures.
All of the new features of New Nintendo 3DS XL make it the ideal way to experience upcoming portable games like The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., as well as all other existing Nintendo 3DS software. The system also enhances certain games like Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS with amiibo functionality, faster processing speeds and more control options when compared to the Nintendo 3DS system.
In addition to the standard hardware in New Red and New Black, two other New Nintendo 3DS XL designs will be available at launch. A New Nintendo 3DS XL featuring artwork inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D will have a SRP of $229.99 and will be available at EB Games, Future Shop, Best Buy and Amazon.ca. As well, a New Nintendo 3DS XL based on Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, which will have the game pre-installed, will be available exclusively at EB Games in Canada for $259.99. The three stand-alone New Nintendo 3DS XL models and the Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate bundle will all be available on February 13th.
In addition to the New Nintendo 3DS XL news, Nintendo also revealed the February 13th launch date of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, a new game in the Fire Emblem series, a line of amiibo featuring classic characters from the Super Mario series, the arrival of amiibo compatibility in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and many details about upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games, including Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., Splatoon, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, and Mario Party 10.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios today unveiled the Who’s Next? – Official Mortal Kombat X Gameplay Trailer, which shows off Mortal Kombat X’s iconic characters including a first look at Kitana, the beautiful but deadly Edenian princess, and Kung Lao, the powerful martial artist with razor sharp hat tricks.
Mortal Kombat X will be released on April 14th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
French developer Swing Swing Submarine and Focus Home Interactive today announced their partnership for the release on consoles and PC of Seasons After Fall, a fairytale platformer where magical abilities allow you to manipulate the four seasons in order to explore and progress.
Watch the short teaser trailer to see the Fox protagonist in action, as he pounces within the forest, manipulating seasons to reach one of the four Guardians of Seasons, the Guardian of Winter.
Seasons After Fall is planned for release in 2016.
Nordic Games and KING Art Games has decided to add some additional finishing touches to The Book of Unwritten Tales 2. The fifth and final chapter (i.e. the full game) is now set to release on February 20th for PC.
Daedalic Entertainment has released a new video for Blackguards, this time focusing on the antihero Cassia and her aim to rule the Shark Throne. Blackguards 2 will be released on January 20th for PC.
