Street Fighter V Kicks Off Season 5 with New Character Dan Hibiki

Beginning today, the fifth and final season of Street Fighter V is officially underway with the release of new character Dan Hibiki and free content for all PlayStation 4 and Steam players. This includes a new “V-Shift” battle mechanic, new training stage, and an updated battle balance for all playable characters.

Releasing today, Dan Hibiki kicks off Season 5 of Street Fighter V in style with his trademark taunts and self-proclaimed “Master of Saikyo” fighting techniques. A mainstay from the Street Fighter Alpha series and last appearing in Street Fighter IV, Dan Hibiki is a training partner of Ryu and Ken. He considers himself well-equipped to “school” anyone who won’t back down. Dan can be added to Street Fighter V rosters now with the Season 5 Character Pass or the Season 5 Premium Pass. He can also be acquired separately for $5.99 USD or 100,000 Fight Money.

Also available today as a free update to all Street Fighter V players, a “V-Shift” battle mechanic provides players with all-new defensive options and strategies. Costing just one bar of V-Gauge, when timed correctly, V-Shift allows players to execute a fully invincible backdash that slows down time for a short period, helping fighters better plan their counter attacks. In addition, all players can now acquire a new training stage called “The Grid Alternative” for free, as well as an updated battle balance for all playable characters.

Looking ahead to the rest of Season 5, four more characters are preparing to join the fight in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition: Rose (Spring 2021), Oro (Summer 2021), Akira (Summer 2021), and a fifth and final unannounced character (Fall 2021). In total, 26 new costumes and two new stages are also being planned for Season 5, including a Rose stage (Spring 2021) and Akira stage (Summer 2021).

To enjoy the new characters and related content, two different Street Fighter V Season 5 passes are available now: Season 5 Character Pass and Season 5 Premium Pass. Here’s a rundown of what’s included with each Season 5 Pass:

  • Season 5 Character Pass
    • All five Season 5 Characters and Costume Colors 3-10
    • Five Battle Costumes (one for each Season 5 Character)
    • Six Titles
    • Bonus Content: Eleven
    • Exclusive PS4 Themes and Steam wallpapers
  • Season 5 Premium Pass
    • All five Season 5 Characters and Costume Colors 3-10
    • 26 new Costumes
    • Two new Stages
    • All costume colors for all Season 5 characters
    • Eight Titles
    • Bonus Content: Eleven
    • 100,000 Fight Money
    • Exclusive PS4 Themes and Steam wallpapers

Rainbow Six Siege Reveals First Content of Year 6: Crimson Heist

Today, Ubisoft announced the full details of the first season of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Year 6: Crimson Heist. This new season introduces Flores, a new Argentinian Operator in the Rainbow Six Team, in addition to an entirely reworked Border map, but also additional features and Elite skins.

In Crimson Heist, players will discover a brand-new attacker: Flores. Equipped with an original gadget called the RCE – Ratero Charge, Flores can deploy a remote-controlled explosive device at his feet and drive it through the map during a limited period of time. At the end of the timer (or earlier if Flores chooses to), the device will arm itself, become bulletproof, and start a short fuse timer, at the end of which it detonates in a powerful explosion. Flores is armed with an AR33 or a SR-25 as a primary weapon, and a GSH-18 as a secondary weapon.

In addition to this new operator, players will have access to a reimagined Border map, which has been newly reworked with interior balcony connecting east staircase to break room. The bathroom has also been extended to be connected to the tellers. Players will play in a new challenging environment with some entry blocked, a reduced number of destructible walls and an additional outside staircase.

With this new season comes a new secondary gadget, the “Gonne-6”. This new weapon will do little damage to soft walls and Operators. The Gonne-6 should fight the torments of the “20 second meta” and the defense favoured meta present in the Year 5. Besides, additional updates presented in the Future of Siege will be implemented in Crimson Heist Test Server to get feedback from players: Match Replay Beta and Streamer Mode.
