NIS America today announced that Stranger of Sword City is making its way to North America on March 22nd for the PlayStation Vita. Additionally, in celebration of the final chapter to the Rhapsodies of Vana’diel storyline in Final Fantasy XI, which also released today, Iroha, the star of the recent Rhapsodies of Vana’diel storyline, will be visiting Final Fantasy XIV in a special collaboration event from November 11th through December 31st. Adventurers will be able to participate in event quests to obtain exclusive in-game items, including Iroha’s outfit.
Commemorating 14 years of continuous service, Square Enix today released the final large-scale version update for Final Fantasy XI. The last chapter of the Rhapsodies of Vana’diel storyline shifts the stage to the new area of Reisenjima, where players will battle for the future of Vana’diel. As part of this occasion, all previous Final Fantasy XI players with inactive service accounts as of October 23rd can play the final chapter for free, starting November 13th, running through November 24th.
Indie developer and publisher, Psyonix, announced today that it has released an all-new, free “Mutators” update for Rocket League – a suite of alternative presets and settings that add variety to custom games.
With the introduction of “Mutators,” Rocket League players can now play a variety of new game-alts, including the low-gravity “Moonball” or the classic Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars game modes,”Cubic” and “Time Warp,” to name just a few. A special playlist, entitled “Mutator Mashup,” will also launch in November and these combine several preset modes into a single, randomized list of online games.
A Mutator mode based on the sport of Hockey will be available in December.
Rising Star Games and Kraken Empire today announced that the shoot’em up Kromaia Omega is now available for purchase on the PlayStation 4 via the PlayStation Store, with a physical boxed edition coming November 13th.
Mike Ybarra, director of program management for Xbox, today unveiled the first 104 Xbox One Backward Compatibility games launching on November 12th, including the Gears of War collection, Assassin’s Creed II, Fallout 3 and Borderlands. You can expect new Xbox One Backward Compatible games to be announced on a regular basis, starting in December. More titles are on the way, including Halo Reach, Halo Wars, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, and Bioshock Infinite. The full list of initial titles is below:
