Ubisoft today announced Jack the Ripper add-on content for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is now available for download on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and will be available on PC December 22nd.
Suffering a long and complicated relationship with the Assassins, Jack the Ripper has been taking out members one by one. Evie Frye returns from her time in India, 20 years after she left London, to join forces with Inspector Frederick Abberline of Scotland Yard to hunt down Jack and restore the damage he has done to the Brotherhood.
Jack the Ripper is available for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate players, or as part of the Season Pass. Jack the Ripper is included in the Gold Edition of the game.
Rockstar Games today announced that GTA Online: Executives and Other Criminals is available now as an automatic update for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC – offering players the chance to run their own criminal organizations, hire and fire other players, and face off against rival operations across Freemode. Los Santos living also gets a premium upgrade with the introduction of Stilt Houses for sale in the Vinewood Hills, new Eclipse Penthouse Apartments with customizable interior styles and the debut of the upgradable and fully staffed Super Yachts now for sale on Docktease. The update also comes with new armored vehicles, two new weapons, the new Extraction Adversary Mode and much more.
Indie developer Studio Wildcard announced that starting December 16th, ARK: Survival Evolved will be available for $34.99 via Xbox Game Preview on Xbox One and will include an exclusive bionic Tek T-Rex, Safari Hat, and Survivor’s Trophy, free access to Xbox-specific ARK official servers, and a steady delivery of exclusive Xbox One content prior to full game launch expected in June 2016. ARK for Xbox One will launch with all game content currently in the PC build.
OtherSide Entertainment, the development studio behind the upcoming fantasy RPG Underworld Ascendant, today officially announced development on System Shock 3, the sequel to the System Shock series.
Key members of the original System Shock and System Shock 2 teams will be part of the sequel. This includes Paul Neurath, who oversaw the original series’ development; Nate Wells, a senior artist on System Shock 2; and Robb Waters, the lead concept artist of both original games.
Several years back, OtherSide secured the exclusive IP rights to all future versions of the franchise. Only recently, through partnership with Night Dive Studios, who owns the System Shock trademark, did OtherSide get the rights to use the System Shock name for the sequel.
System Shock 3 is currently in the early concept stages of development.
FreeStyleGames today announced Rival Challenges, which is now live in Guitar Hero Live. Rival Challenges is a new feature in the GHTV channels that pits players against similarly skilled matchmade players in a 1-on-1 song battle.
Additional features are also now available in GHTV, including the ability to “favorite” a song, and a new daily token reward for those who have depleted their Plays.
Coldwood Interactive and Electronic Arts today announced Unravel will be available on February 9th via digital download on Origin for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Unravel trailer released today features new gameplay of Yarny—the tiny, new character made from a single thread of yarn—embarking on an adventure to reconnect the bonds of love.

Last month, Battle of Shadow and Light, the first free Halo 5: Guardians content update launched, bringing with it new REQs and Big Team Battle. This week, the next free update – Cartographer’s Gift – brings Forge Mode and a host of new weapons, armor sets, assassinations, Warzone and Arena maps, and much more.
In addition to Forge Mode, the Cartographer’s Gift update also adds a plethora of other new content to Halo 5: Guardians. For example, the classic M41 “SPNKr” Rocket Launcher and MARK IV [GEN 1] armor set REQs will become available for you to collect for your arsenal, and four new maps – the Warzone map “The Battle of Noctus,” Arena map “Overgrowth,” and Big Team Battle maps “Antifreeze,” and “Entombed” – will be added to the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer experience.
Once it’s available this week, Cartographer’s Gift will automatically download and install for all Halo 5: Guardian players.
Three major updates have released and one more is coming to the PC version of Hand of Fate, Defiant Development’s Kickstarter-funded title that blends action RPG and rogue-like features with elements of board and collectible card games.
The free updates have released one at a time through Steam in the month of December. The final download, Underworld, will release before the New Year.

The NPD Group has released its retail report for the month of November. While software sales were down year-over-year in November by 7%, hardware sales were up 11%. Overall, total industry sales were up 2% to 2.47 billion. November marked the best month ever for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii U software and hardware sales, with PS4 leading the charge as best-selling platform. After 25 months, the combined sales for the PS4 and Xbox One are 47% higher than the combined sales for 25 months of PS3 and Xbox 360 hardware sales.
