Street Fighter V Story Details and Post Launch DLC Plans

Capcom today provided new details on the story elements that will be included in Street Fighter V. When the game releases on February 16th, players will have the opportunity to play through individual character stories that provide background information on each of the characters, their roles in the game, and their relationships with other fighters. The character stories have a recognizable throwback art style created by Bengus, a Japanese illustrator who has worked on a variety of past Street Fighter projects.

The character stories serve as a prologue for the Street Fighter V cinematic story expansion, which will be released in June as a free update to all players. The story takes place between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III and bridges the events that happen in between the two stories.

Upon completing the character stories and other single-player content at launch, Street Fighter V players can earn enough Fight Money to purchase a new character, and possibly more depending on skill level. Capcom is timing the release of the in-game store to coincide with the first post launch content drop in March, giving players plenty of time to accumulate Fight Money through the various single-player modes prior to the store opening. When the game first releases, there will be no DLC to purchase using earnable Fight Money or real currency (known as Zenny). The first post launch content for Street Fighter V will be released in March.

Additionally, Capcom confirmed today that a fourth and final Street Fighter V beta will run from January 30-31 as a bonus to all fans and supporters.

Infected Documentary Series Inspired by Tom Clancy’s The Division

Ubisoft has partnered with VICE Media for a three-part documentary series, Infected, featuring Canadian experts and inspired by Tom Clancy’s The Division. The first episode of Infected is now live at www.vice.com/en_ca/series/infected.

Part 1: Is Canada at a risk to be hit by a major pandemic?

We all know what the flu feels like. But what if you contracted a mutated flu virus so severe there’s a 40% chance you wouldn’t survive? VICE’s correspondent speaks with medical experts convinced we may be overdue for a repeat of a virus similar to the 1918 Spanish Flu Pandemic that infected a third of the world’s population and wiped out 50 million people. On our journey VICE talks to an expert in mathematical modelling of disease and zombies, and pays a visit to the National Microbiology Lab in Winnipeg — the only lab of its kind in Canada, housing the most dangerous viruses in the world.

Part 2: How are everyday citizens and the Canadian government getting ready for the next pandemic? Coming February 2nd.

In part two of Infected, VICE Media meets with ‘preppers’ Robert Studer of Survival Central, and Bruce Beach of Ark2, one of the largest manmade underground bunkers in the world, to see how they’re getting ready for what could be the next super-flu pandemic. We also meet Dr. Camille Lemieux from Infection Prevention and Control Canada to find out how Canada is prepared in the event a deadly pandemic shows up on our doorstep.

Part 3: If a pandemic hits Canada’s borders, are we prepared? Coming February 9th.

Is Canada ready to handle the sort of super virus that has many scientists worried? In the final chapter of Infected, VICE’s team visits Ottawa General Hospital’s “Ebola Room” and speaks with Dr. Virginia Roth about what protocols are in place to handle deadly infectious diseases. VICE’s correspondent also speaks with German physicist Dirk Brockmann, who studies human mobility patterns to find out how infectious diseases spread in our globalized world.

Tom Clancy’s The Division will be available on March 8th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
