En Masse Entertainment today announced the upcoming closed PC beta test of Battleplans, a new real-time strategy game for PC that focuses on battle tactics instead of button clicks. Offering a unique twist on the RTS genre, Battleplans splits offensive battles and defensive planning into two distinct phases of the game. Players lead attacks on resource-rich territories controlled by NPCs or players and then devise defense strategies to maintain control of those conquered holdings when other players attack in their absence. Players can study replays of these battles to help them refine their defense plans and thwart future incursions.
Sign-ups for the closed PC beta test open today at play-battleplans.com. Invitations will go out later this month, with the game targeted for release later this spring.
