Obsidian Entertainment and Paradox Interactive today announced Tyranny, a brand-new role-playing game coming to PC. Tyranny introduces players to an original fantasy world where a brutal clash between good and evil has taken place – and evil emerged triumphant. A nonlinear story challenges players to find their role within the dominant empire and live with the outcomes of difficult, morally unclear decisions.
In Tyranny, the grand war between good and evil is over – and the forces of evil, led by Kyros the Overlord, have won. The Overlord’s merciless armies dominate the face of the world, and its denizens must find their new roles within the war-torn realm. Players interact with the populace to inspire loyalty, disgust, or fear as they roam the world as an officer in Kyros’ forces, empowered to act as both judge and executioner.
Grip Digital and developer Right Nice Games today unveiled Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island, a single-player action-platformer game coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One via the ID@Xbox self-publishing program, and PC later in 2016.
Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island sets two unlikely heroes on an adventure to prevent the villainous CRT from conquering their home and turning it into a wasteland. Skylar was designed by CRT and turned into his most potent weapon – wielding a powerful mechanical arm augmentation — but now, she must become a heroine-against-her-will to defy her makers and forge a new destiny. And Plux is the eloquent sidekick that every good action platformer needs to have.
Sony Computer Entertainment today announced that PlayStation VR will launch in October for $399 USD/$549 CAD.
PlayStation is expecting to have more than 50 games available from launch in October until the end of the year, including Eagle Flight (Ubisoft), EVE: Valkyrie (CCP Games), Headmaster (Frame Interactive), Rez Infinite (Enhance Games), Wayward Sky (Uber Entertainment), RIGS: Mechanized Combat League, Tumble VR, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood and PlayStation VR Worlds (Sony Worldwide Studios). Additionally, Electronic Arts, DICE and Lucasfilm are working on an all-new Star Wars Battlefront gaming experience only for PlayStation VR. Furthermore, The Playroom VR by Sony Worldwide Studios will be available as a free download from PlayStation Store to all PS VR owners, simultaneously with the launch of the system.
Blackbird Interactive and Gearbox Entertainment today announced the new Soban Fleet Pack, coming to players of Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak on March 22nd. Priced at $6.99, this DLC pack will add the new playable fleet, Kiith Soban, to multiplayer and skirmish modes in Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak. The Soban Fleet includes an all new Carrier, Railgun, Baserunner and Battlecruiser.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new LEGO Marvel’s Avengers video featuring Super Heroes from the recently released Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War Character Pack. Based on the Marvel Studios film hitting theatres on May 6th, this add-on content is currently available as a free download exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 players.
Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War Character Pack expands the game’s roster of Super Heroes, featuring nine playable characters, including Agent 13, Black Panther, Captain America, Crossbones, Falcon, Iron Man (Mark 46), Scarlet Witch, War Machine, and Winter Soldier. The pack also debuts the Marvel Cinematic Universe character versions of Black Panther and Crossbones, with both variants appearing in a console videogame for the first time.
XSEED Games today announced that Senran Kagura Estival Versus, the latest iteration and first console release in the busty brawler series, is now available for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The game is available digitally via the PlayStation Store as well as physically via a limited “Endless Summer” retail release, the latter of which includes a 108-page art book full of artwork from the Senran Kagura series, a randomly chosen set of ten 2.5” by 3.5” holographic “pin-up cards” featuring one of six bevies of badass beauties each in two distinct poses, and a 2-disc soundtrack containing 70 total tracks.
In addition, XSEED Games revealed that today it will provide players with a free update to the game including additional multiplayer game modes and combat features (such as Puppet Walkers, the first rideable mech in the series), playable characters Rin and Daidoji, and various tweaks and balances to ensure fair play across the board. In the weeks following today’s launch, a variety of free and paid DLC options will become available for fans, including additional costumes, new playable characters (such as Ayane from the Dead or Alive series), new missions, and more. All DLC options from the game’s Japanese release will eventually make their way to the North American release of Senran Kagura Estival Versus, excepting for the Japanese-exclusive playable characters from the Ikki Tousen series.

Aksys Games and Acquire today announced that its action strategy title, Aegis of Earth: Protonovus Assault, is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Dig in, plan out and build up your defenses as hordes of hulking monstrosities bombard your heavily fortified city in an attempt to wipe you off the Earth for good.
Beginning on April 18th, fans who’ve played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or Windows 10 will begin to receive tokens in waves for early access to the multiplayer beta. Following the conclusion of early access on April 24th, all qualifying Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox One will be invited to join the beta until it ends on May 1st.
In addition, they’re extending the time frame for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition players to qualify for early access to the Gears of War 4 beta from March 1st to April 11th. To qualify, just log on to Xbox Live and play Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or Windows 10 by 11 p.m. PDT, April 11th.
Today marks the arrival of the Meguiar’s Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6, featuring seven cars from a slew of automotive genres and nearly as many eras of production. This will include the new turbo-charged 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB, the first Corvette Daytona Prototype to hit the tracks of Forza Motorsport 6, a Le Mans winning prototype, and a cadre of classics that are set to impress.
