Guile Flash Kicks His Way Into Street Fighter V

Guile, one of the most popular Street Fighter characters of all time, has been recruited and is ready for his tour of duty in Street Fighter V. As one of the original eight World Warriors in Street Fighter II, Guile retains his classic ground and air fighting style, while adding an array of new weapons to his arsenal this time around. Guile arrives with his individual Character Story and his own set of Trials and is available beginning today for all Street Fighter V players on PS4 and PC.

Joining Guile’s release today is the first new stage to be added to Street Fighter V post launch. Guile’s Air Force Base returns with a shiny new jet, a next-gen boom box and some familiar background characters that fans may recognize from their Street Fighter II days. This stage is available beginning today in the In-Game Shop for 70,000 Fight Money. Season Pass holders will receive this stage for free as a thank you for their continued support of Street Fighter V.

Capcom is offering Guile as a free trial period to all Street Fighter V players until the In-Game Shop for real currency is made available to players. Once the shop launches, the free trial for DLC characters that released prior to the shop opening will end, and players will need to use Fight Money, real currency, or the Season Pass to access those characters. Ibuki, Balrog, Juri, and Urien will be releasing later this year and more additional content will be announced at a later date.

Also included in today’s Street Fighter V update is the first implementation of a system to punish players who frequently disconnect during matches (aka rage quitters). The system will continue to be refined over time and more enhancements will be implemented in the future. Additionally, a number of improvements to the matchmaking system have been made, which speeds up the time it takes to find an opponent and simplifies the process of creating and connecting to Battle Lounges.

Madden NFL 16 Championship Announced with New Mode

Ea Sports today announced that fans will have an opportunity to compete in the Madden NFL 16 Championship, which culminates in a finals tournament this summer live at EA Play. Players will test their skills in the new Salary Cap Ranked mode, currently in beta and available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, within Madden NFL 16 Ultimate Team and in Draft Champions Ranked for their chance to win a share of the $50,000 prize. More details and rules to follow.

Salary Cap Ranked requires players to build the best Ultimate Team possible while staying under a set cap total, demanding strategic thinking and careful planning. While any player in a fan’s Ultimate Team binder is eligible to be used in Salary Cap mode, each player carries a cap value and it will be impossible to load up the field with unstoppable talent at every position. Will fans opt to put their best player on the field at the expense of other roles? Or will they intentionally bench their stars in the name of creating a balanced team?

Those competing in Salary Cap Ranked and the Season 2 Draft Champions Ranked ladders will have a chance to climb the leaderboards and compete in live events in the hopes of taking home the grand prize at EA Play. In the coming weeks players on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 can compete in Salary Cap Ranked to reach the top of the ranks, with the top 64 on each console being invited to the first round of the competition. Madden Challenge Finalists, DCR Season 2 finalists and Salary Cap Ranked finalists will all come together to crown the Madden NFL 16 Champion.
