The Weapons and Power Combos of Prey

Bethesda Softworks has released a new gameplay video for Prey – ‘Weapons and Power Combos’ – which shows some of the unique ways you can combine your weapons, tools and abilities to take down the Typhon aliens.

You might be mankind’s last hope aboard Talos I, but you’ve got a mighty arsenal to face down the Typhon threat. Armed with your wits, weapons and a host of incredible powers, it’s up to you to stop the alien invasion and save all of humanity. Piece of cake. With 24 human upgrades and 20 unique alien powers to choose from (plus all of their upgrades), no two Morgans will be the same, and no two players will have the same experiences in Prey. Along with the human abilities like Hacking, Leverage, Repair, and Gunsmith – all of which enhance Morgan’s innate strengths – you will have access to three distinct trees of Typhon-based abilities. Of course, there’s some risk when rewarding yourself with these amazing alien abilities. As you install alien powers, the turrets on the station will view you as a hostile entity, and you will increasingly run the risk of being targeted and hunted by the massive Nightmare Typhon. But with (sometimes literally) mind-bending abilities like these, we’ve got to say the risk is definitely worth it.

Prey is set to launch on May 5th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII: Fame and Strategy Expansion Unveiled

Koei Tecmo today announced the upcoming release of Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII: Fame and Strategy Expansion Pack. Arriving on April 25th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam, the add-on will offer players a variety of new strategic options as they witness the tale of a collapsing dynasty and fight to unify China.

The upcoming expansion’s release also marks the first time that the grand-strategy experience will be available on Xbox One, as a digital bundle including both Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII and the Fame and Strategy Expansion Pack. This bundle option will also be available for the digital PlayStation 4 and PC versions of the game.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII: Fame and Strategy Expansion Pack introduces new mechanics to the series that allow for greater strategic possibilities. One of these additions is the Fame System, wherein players work towards receiving bonuses for their characters by completing achievements, which range from battlefield objectives to peacefully resolving disputes. Players can also earn a Prestige title for their character through the Fame System, which will unlock new actions based on their Prestige level and ultimately shape life as an officer.

Also arriving with the new expansion is the War Council, which is held before engaging in battle. With this feature Generals are able to choose which Officers will follow them into combat and which strategies they will apply to outsmart their opponent. Furthermore, players will now be able to create their own scenarios with the Event Editor. This tool allows unique narratives to be crafted within second century China and offers full control over when Events take place, which officers are affected and whether there will be multiple outcomes.

Expanded Free Trial Comes to Final Fantasy XIV

Square Einx has brought new enhancements to the Final Fantasy XIV free trial in preparation for the upcoming release of Stormblood. The latest update removes the 14-day time restriction previously placed on free trial accounts, allowing anyone to experience the MMO for free, up to level 35. Players will be able to continue exploring the realm of Eorzea for as long as they like, or try out different playable races, classes, and jobs.

These enhancements do not extend only to new free trial accounts — existing or expired free trial accounts will be reactivated, allowing players to continue their previous adventures. Free trial players can access all content up to level 35, create up to eight playable characters (one per World), join parties or linkshell groups with fellow players, and even battle their way to Floor 10 in the Deep Dungeon.

Also released today, Patch 3.56 marks the conclusion of the main narrative of Heavensward, setting the stage for the upcoming release of Stormblood on June 20th.
