Sega and Relic Entertainment today announced that the World War II real-time strategy game, Company of Heroes 2 is free to download (and keep) via Steam from May 27th until June 3rd. For the very first time, players can also get their hands on the standalone single-player campaign ‘Ardennes Assault’ for free. Additionally, the entire Company of Heroes franchise is up to 80% off until June 3rd.
Today, in honor of Sonic the Hedgehog’s 30th anniversary, Sega hosted the first-ever “Sonic Central” livestream event, broadcasted on the official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube and Twitch channels. During the celebratory event, Sega revealed Sonic Colors: Ultimate, a remaster of the 2010 platformer, Sonic Colors, alongside a debut trailer. Sonic Colors: Ultimate is set to release both digitally and physically on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, with a digital-only release on PC via the Epic Game Store on September 7th.

Creative Assembly today announced a substantial patch for Total War: Three Kingdoms, as well as news on the future of the series, explained in a newly released Dev Diary.
The 1.7.1 patch, which goes live today, contains numerous community-requested fixes, as well as an important change to the campaign map that sees Mount Song and Hulao Pass move to their correct locations. Krafton today announced Project Windless, which is the company’s plans to develop a game and larger multimedia franchise based on the Korean fantasy novel, The Bird That Drinks Tears.
The Bird That Drinks Tears is a novel series that was created and written by Yeong-do Lee, who is widely acknowledged as the pioneer of the Korean fantasy genre. To help visualize the universe, Krafton has recruited Hollywood talent and concept artist, Iain McCaig, to further bring the novel to life. Mr. McCaig is a concept artist who has been involved in early character visualizations for Star Wars characters, in addition to his work on many other film franchises, such as The Avengers, Harry Potter, and Terminator. His creative work will serve as the visual direction for Krafton’s Project Windless, which encompasses the game and other creative works.
Indie developer Fatshark today announced that the Chaos Wastes expansion to Warhammer: Vermintide 2 will be available on June 3rd on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S as a free download, while PlayStation 4 players will work their way towards the Citadel of Eternity later the same month.
Today’s Monster Hunter Digital Event revealed two new trailers for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and Monster Hunter Rise, while Monster Hunter series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and Monster Hunter Rise director Yasunori Ichinose provided details on what’s in store for each title. The latest trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin gave a first look at a mysterious light causing monsters to enter an enraged frenzy, alongside more familiar faces from the original Monster Hunter Stories. Fans also got a detailed look at delving into Monster Dens for new eggs and the Rite of Channeling feature, which will allow players to build entirely unique collections of Monstie companions when the game launches on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on July 9th. For Monster Hunter Rise fans, the Digital Event showcased the second free title update for the game, which will be available for players to download and play later today. The Ver. 3.0 update will introduce two more new monsters to the game and will include a new ending to the game’s storyline, new quests, new weapon and armor options, new skills, and more.
