Koei Tecmo today released a new trailer providing a closer look at the environments and combat systems that players can look forward to in Dynasty Warriors 9.
Dynasty Warriors 9 introduces new combat mechanics to the series’ signature “one versus thousands” style gameplay with the State Combo System. This new system allows players to perform 3 different attack styles – Trigger Attacks, Flow Attacks and Finish Attacks – each dealing progressively more damage. Trigger Attacks allow players to create the start of a combo, leading to Flow Attacks, which adapt to the enemy’s current state. Successful combos allow for a Finish Attack to be performed, delivering a final blow that eradicates any foes caught in its path.
Augmenting the series’ first true open world is another innovation introduced in Dynasty Warriors 9: the Interactive Action system. Players will be able to fully utilize their surroundings for the first time in the Warriors franchise with the ability to climb buildings and mountains, wield grappling hooks to traverse walls, and make use of objects like oil barrels in battle.
Electronic Arts today unveiled the first look at NHL 18 to hockey fans at the 2017 NHL Awards and NHL Expansion Draft in Las Vegas, and revealed Edmonton Oilers superstar center and Art Ross Trophy winner Connor McDavid as the athlete on the game’s cover.

Ubisoft have announced Steep: Road to the Olympics, the official videogame of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. An expansion to the open world action-sports game Steep featuring skiing, snowboarding, wingsuiting and paragliding, Steep: Road to the Olympics will let players stage their own Winter Olympic Games from December 5th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. More information on bundled editions of Steep will be released at a later date.
In Steep: Road to the Olympics, players ride the South Korean mountains to live an athlete’s journey and dream towards the Olympic podium. The expansion will feature fresh challenges as well as official Olympic disciplines, including Downhill, Slopestyle, Halfpipe, Giant Slalom, Super-G and Big Air.

Nicalis today released Cave Story+ for Nintendo Switch. Players can download a digital copy from the Nintendo eShop or acquire a physical Game Card from retail outlets.
