Explore The Station on February 20th

The Station, a first-person sci-fi mystery, will launch for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on February 20th. Developed by a team of AAA veterans, including Dave Fracchia, former Studio Head at Radical Entertainment, the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning designer Les Nelkin, and BioShock Infinite and League of Legends composer Duncan Watt, The Station will take players across the universe and aboard a spacecraft orbiting a vicious alien world.

Zelda and Horizon Zero Dawn Lead 2018 Game Developer Choice Awards Finalists

Organizers have revealed the nominees for the 18th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards. Winners in all fourteen categories will be honored at the Game Developers Choice Awards ceremony, taking place on March 21st, 2018 at 6:30pm at the San Francisco Moscone Center during the 2018 Game Developers Conference and held in conjunction with the Independent Games Festival Awards. GDCA will be presided by returning host and industry veteran, Robin Hunicke, a professor of game design at UC Santa Cruz and the co-founder of the indie game studio, Funomena.

Leading the pack are Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Horizon Zero Dawn from Guerrilla Games with a total of six nominations each, including Game of the Year. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild also received nominations for Best Audio, Design, Innovation, Technology, and Visual Art. Horizon Zero Dawn was additionally nominated for Best Audio, Design, Narrative, Technology and Visual Art.

Other titles receiving multiple nominations include Nier: Automata developed by PlatinumGames, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds developed by PUBG Corporation and Cuphead from StudioMDHR, with three nods apiece. Nier: Automata was nominated for Best Audio, Best Design and Game of the Year. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was nominated for Best Design, Innovation Award and Game of the Year. Cuphead received nominations for Best Audio, Best Debut (for StudioMDHR) and Visual Art. The Game of The Year nominees are rounded out by Super Mario Odyssey from Nintendo.

SSGSS Vegeta Joins Roster of Dragon Ball FighterZ

Enchantress Joining Roster of Injustice 2

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today unveiled a new gameplay trailer for the newest addition to the Injustice 2 character roster, Enchantress. The trailer gives players their first glimpse at June Moone’s magic-wielding alter-ego Enchantress, in-action as she struggles to contain the mystical powers that have taken hold of her. Enchantress will arrive on January 9th for players who have purchased the Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition, Injustice 2 Ultimate Pack or Fighter Pack #3, and will be available as a standalone purchase beginning January 16th from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Steam, and Microsoft Store.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Appears on Xbox One January 19th

Today, The Astronauts announced their first game, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, will launch on Xbox One on January 19th, including support for Xbox One X and a brand new mode to explore. In anticipation of its launch, the game is now available for pre-order through the Xbox Marketplace.

In addition to offering everything from the game’s PC and PS4 versions, the Xbox One release of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter also includes a brand new Free Roam mode. As one of the most requested features among fans, Free Roam mode allows players to take in the sights and sounds of Red Creek Valley on their own terms, without a trace of murder.

Monster Hunter: World – Elder Dragons Trailer

During a live stream in Japan today, Capcom announced new details and a trailer for the upcoming launch of Monster Hunter: World which is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 26th. This new trailer introduces several new and returning Elder Dragons.

The steel dragon Kushala Daora is a beast with a body covered in metal plates and has the power to keep hunters at bay by generating wind storms around itself. The flame king dragon Teostra is a brutal fiend that spits blazing fire and any hunter who faces this fierce and deadly monster is in danger of being engulfed in a hellish inferno. Another monster introduced in the trailer is Dodogama, a rock-eating wyvern that possesses a unique saliva that causes rock to become explosive, a hazardous mix it will spit at its foes to warn off attackers.

Also confirmed today is a final beta planned for all PlayStation 4 users which will begin on January 18th and will go through January 22nd. In addition to the previously released Great Jagras, Anjanath and Barroth quests, players will now be able to battle against the game’s terrifying and challenging flagship monster Nergigante.

Finally, Capcom today confirmed that there are plans for post-launch support of Monster Hunter: World with regular content updates, as well as major title updates for free. The first major title update will be coming in Spring 2018 which includes the addition of the fan-favorite monster Deviljho.

Nintendo Switch Becomes the Fastest-Selling Console of All-Time

Nintendo Switch has become the fastest-selling home video game system in U.S. history. The home console launched March 3rd, 2017, and in 10 months has sold more than 4.8 million units in the United States, according to Nintendo’s internal sales figures. That’s the highest total for the first 10 months of any home video game system in U.S. history, surpassing Nintendo’s own Wii system, which was the previous record holder with more than 4 million units sold during the same timeframe.
