Dark Souls, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Mario Tennis Coming to Nintendo Switch

Nintendo debuted a new Nintendo Direct Mini video presentation today spotlighting a selection of first- and third-party titles coming in early 2018. Following a strong holiday season, Nintendo Switch owners will see a variety of new games and content arriving in the next few months, including Dark Souls: Remastered, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Tennis Aces and Kirby Star Allies games, and a certain green-clad brother bringing a new mode to the Super Mario Odyssey game.

DONTNOT Presents Vampyr – Webseries Teaser

Focus Home Interactive and DONTNOD Entertainment today announced “DONTNOD Presents Vampyr”, an original weekly four-part webseries, which reveals the studio’s approach to bringing the narrative-driven RPG Vampyr to life.

In each 5-minute episode, the French developer invites fans into their Parisian studio to unveil exclusive new gameplay footage accompanied with insight into their creative process, beginning with Episode I: Making Monsters on January 18th.

Four episodes are planned in total for the weekly series:

  • Episode I: Making Monsters
  • Episode II: Architects of the Obscure
  • Episode III: Human After All
  • Episode IV: Stories From the Dark

Vampyr releases Spring 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Anamorphine Now Releasing Late Q1 2018

Indie developer Artifact 5 today announced that their introspective adventure title Anamorphine, originally intended to launch on January 16th, will now be releasing late Q1, 2018 on PC, HTV Vive, Oculus Rift, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR.

Total War: Three Kingdoms Announced

Sega today announced the new historical strategy game Total War: Three Kingdoms, the next major historical title in the Total War strategy series from Creative Assembly, and the first to explore ancient China, will launch for PC in Fall 2018.

It is 190CE and China is in turmoil. The Han Dynasty crumbles before the child-emperor, who is a mere puppet for the tyrant Dong Zhuo. The brutal and oppressive regime’s power grows as the empire slips further into anarchy. Yet hope blossoms in the form of three heroes, sworn to brotherhood in the face of calamity. Warlords of great families follow suit, forming a fragile coalition in a bid to challenge Dong Zhuo’s remorseless rule. The future of China will be shaped by their hands, but personal ambition threatens their already crumbling alliance.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DNA Coming to PC on January 30th

NIS America announced that the PC version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA is targeted for release on January 30th. Included in the PC release are game optimizations and localization revisions including improvements to the game’s script, adjustments to graphical text and re-recorded audio.

For one week only, PC users will be able to download the following for free until February 6th, 10:00am PST:

  • Adol’s Adventure Essentials DLC – Includes Adol’s Silver Armor, Adol’s Adventurer Clothes, and Adol’s Survival Kit

Bulkhead Interactive Announces Battalion 1944

Bulkhead Interactive and Square Enix Collective today announced Battalion 1944 is heading for Early Access on February 1st. Coupling this announcement is a brand new reveal trailer, both setting the scene for the WWII inspired shooter and featuring gameplay from the latest build.

Bulkhead Interactive will be running an exclusive beta of Battalion 1944, kicking off from Friday, January 19th through Sunday, January 21st. For a chance to take part, head on over to beta.battaliongame.com. Any Kickstarter or Humble Bundle backers will automatically gain access to the beta, with streaming and content creation using the beta allowed.

The Early Access version of Battalion 1944 will come with six modes, to be announced later down the line.
