Bandai Namco and Mojo Bones today announced that Impact Winter will be available digitally on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 5th. Impact Winter previously launched on Steam and survivors will now be able to test their skills on consoles. Players on PlayStation 4 will receive a dynamic theme for free.
Blazing Griffin today announced that its PC-exclusive multiplayer stealth-em-up, Murderous Pursuits, will launch on Steam on April 26th. Blazing Griffin is kicking off the first Murderous Pursuits Closed Beta on Friday, March 23rd at noon ET, and keeping things going until Sunday, March 25 at noon ET. Out of the Park Developments announced today that Out of the Park Baseball 19 is now available, ahead of the start of the 2018 Major League Baseball season on March 29th. OOTP 19 offers dozens of new features and improvements to its gameplay including a 3D in-game engine that shows players pitching, hitting, fielding, and running the bases.

Nintendo’s open-world role-playing game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, was honored with the prize for Game of the Year at last night’s 18th annual Game Developers Choice Awards ceremony during the 2018 Game Developers Conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The game’s sound and open-ended gameplay also earned The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild the awards for Best Audio and Best Design.
Developer Jason Roberts’ puzzle game, Gorogoa, earned two awards, for Best Mobile Game and the Innovation Award. Developer Studio MDHR also earned two awards, Best Debut and Best Visual Art, for its work on the retro shooter Cuphead.
The full slate of winners at the 2018 GDCAs also includes Best Narrative award winner, What Remains of Edith Finch by Giant Sparrow; Horizon Zero Dawn by Guerilla Games, which earned the award for Best Technology; and the VR shooter, Superhot VR by the Superhot Team, which won the award for Best VR/AR Game. In addition, the Audience Award, chosen among the entire selection of GDCA finalists via a public online voting process, was presented to developer PlatinumGames for NieR:Automata, the open-world RPG.
Infinite Fall’s Night in the Woods took home the $30,000 Seumas McNally Grand Prize for Best Independent Game at the 20th annual Independent Games Festival Awards last night. The ceremony took place as part of the 2018 Game Developers Conference at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco. In addition to the grand prize, Night in the Woods also received top honors for Excellence in Narrative. Night in the Woods is an adventure game that focuses on exploration, story and character development within a lush, vibrant world.
The night’s other multiple award winner was Baba Is You, a puzzle game created by developer Hempuli that allows players to alter the rules and game logic as a part of solving the puzzles. Baba Is You was recognized for Best Student Game and Excellence in Design.
Today, Bethesda Softworks announced The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset, the next chapter of ZeniMax Online Studio’s online RPG, The Elder Scrolls Online. This year’s chapter will send players to the Isle of Summerset to explore the home of the High Elves for the first time since 1994’s The Elder Scrolls: Arena. With a new zone, a main story, a new skill line based on the Psijic Order, and the introduction of jewelry crafting, The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset offers an expansive installment for both new and veteran players.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset will release for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on June 5th.
Indie developer Sobaka Studio and publisher Buka Entertainment today announced their partnership on development of 9 Monkeys of Shaolin, an old-school beat ‘em up powered by Unreal Engine 4. 9 Monkeys of Shaolin will be released this Fall for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
NIS America today announced that Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA will arrive on Nintendo Switch on June 26th. The Nintendo Switch edition of the game comes with content from both the PS4 and PS Vita versions. In addition, the Day One Adventurer’s Edition contains a reversible cover, an exclusive foil pack of three character cards featuring Adol, Dana, and Dogi, as well as a double-sided poster featuring Dana and the Map of the Isle of Seiren.
OtherSide Entertainment and 505 Games today released a new developer diary video, The Vision of an Immersive Sim, highlighting the creative team behind Underworld Ascendant, the action RPG coming to Steam in 2018.
