This Wednesday, Mortal Shell will celebrate its first year anniversary by releasing its new roguelike expansion, The Virtuous Cycle, at a special 100% discount for five days only.
Between August 18th and August 23rd, fans can download and keep The Virtuous Cycle – a fully fledged expansion complete with a new roguelike mode, new playable shell, and new transforming axe-katana weapon – at no cost. Once this promotional period ends, the DLC will return to its MSRP of $7.99 USD.
Publisher Rogue today announced two fast-paced, first-person shooters for console and PC as part of Realms Deep 2021. The two games include Sprawl, a twitch-paced retro-FPS heavily inspired by eastern cyberpunk such as 1995’s Ghost in the Shell, and Neon Beasts, an 80s fever dream filled with retro-futuristic nostalgia, bizarre characters, lightning gunplay, and buckets of neon-soaked violence. Sprawl and Neon Beasts are both coming to console and PC next year.
Developer small bros has released a new gameplay trailer showing brand new B.I.O.T.A footage captured from multiple locations throughout this upcoming 2D Metroidvania. Featuring glorious 8-bit visuals and an upbeat chiptunes soundtrack, B.I.O.T.A is a love letter to adventure games of the past and is planned to launch on Steam and GOG later in 2021.

Clockwork Pile’s new gameplay trailer for their squad-based survival strategy title, Shardpunk: Verminfall, shows and goes deep into the tactical decisions needed to survive the rat swarm. The game is planned for release in 2022.
Developer Tactical Dogs has revealed a brand new gameplay trailer showing off more of their upcoming post-apocalyptic 2D action adventure title, The Looter, which is planned for release on Steam and GOG in 2022.
Forgive Me Father, Byte Barrel’s dark retro horror FPS inspired by Lovecraft’s novels, launches into Steam Early Access on October 28th. Closing out this trio of world premieres, 1C Entertainment will publish and support the development of HYPERVIOLENT, Terminist Arcade’s fast-paced retro FPS paying homage to sprite-based shooters from the ‘90s. Unravel the secret behind a mysterious contagion using a fusion of RPG and FPS mechanics, from upgrading weapons to investigating data logs. Obliterate up to 30 friends in deathmatch, team deathmatch, survival, or play the campaign in four-player co-op when HYPERVIOLENT launches on Steam in Q1 2022.
Supergiant Games and Private Division announced that Hades is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox X|S and Xbox One.
Playing Hades on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S results in a technical boost, with the action running at 4K at a target 60fps. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game perform at 1080p at a target 60fps. In addition, Hades features enhanced controller vibration and lighting on the PS5 DualSense controller.

11 bit studios today announced Frostpunk 2 – the sequel to the society survival city-builder. Frostpunk 2 is the first project to be revealed from the three in-house games that are currently being developed at the Warsaw-based company. In addition to the reveal, players can try the original Frostpunk for free on Steam for a limited time during this coming weekend between August 12th and 16th.
