Ubisoft has released a trailer for The Far Cry Experience, a four episode mockumentary web series created and produced internally by Ubisoft to tie in with the release of the Far Cry 3 game. The series stars Superbad and Kick-Ass actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse as himself. It also stars Michael Mando, the voice and performance capture actor for the game’s character Vaas Montenegro. In its execution, the series is aimed to play with the codes of gaming, transcribing its violence while maintaining a humorous tone. Far Cry 3 will be available in stores on December 4th.
Konami today announced that while a PlayStation 3 online title update for Silent Hill HD Collection has been deployed for download via PlayStation Network, plans for an Xbox 360 title update have been cancelled due to technical issues and resources.
Understanding the issues some users are experiencing, Konami issued a title update for Silent Hill HD Collection, which fixed frame rate issues as well as audio-synching and other reported issues. Konami apologizes to any players who are continuing to experience these issues on the Xbox 360.
Activision and Terminal Reality today announced new details for AMC’s The Walking Dead “Dead Giveaway” contest, an eight-week event giving fans an opportunity to win a gruesome role in the upcoming videogame, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.
Clues are revealed during new episodes of The Walking Dead season three on Sunday nights at 9pm on AMC. Fans can enter the clues online at www.amcdead.com and each week one lucky winner will be chosen to appear as a character in the game. Terminal Reality will then use photos of his or her facial likeness to create a unique character whose backstory and death scene may be encountered by players during The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. As on the show, inquisitive survivors will be able to piece together how these characters lived before uncovering the scenes behind each of their horrific ends. Each contest winner will be hidden in a different level. There will even be a special challenge to track down all the winners. Bethesda Softworks today announced three upcoming add-on packs for Dishonored. All of the Dishonored add-on packs will be released simultaneously on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
Dishonored: Dunwall City Trials, being released in December for $4.99 (400 Microsoft Points), will include 10 challenge maps that will test and track your combat, stealth and mobility skills. Ten distinct trials await challengers – including an arena battle against waves of enemy AI, a gravity-defying run of drop assassinations, and a race against the clock. Dunwall City Trials also features a whole new set of achievements and trophies as well as a global online leaderboard that will establish the greatest assassins for each challenge.
The second and third add-ons for Dishonored will be coming in 2013 and will each feature story-driven campaigns. Pricing on these two packs will be revealed closer to launch.
