Sony Computer Entertainment America today announced that a classic white PlayStation 3, with a 500GB hard drive and bundled with a year-long membership to PlayStation Plus, will become available on January 27th for $299.99.
EA and Criterion Games announced today that Need for Speed Most Wanted is coming to Wii U on March 19th. The Wii U version includes the Ultimate Speed Pack and will utilize three unique features of the Wii U GamePad controller.
Firstly, introducing an all new local co-op mode, Co-Driver, one player drives using the Wii Remote controller or Wii U Pro Controller, and another player uses the Wii U GamePad to provide control and navigation assistance on a fully interactive real-time map. Using just their fingertips, a partner can distract pursuing cops, switch from night to day or activate enhanced performance for any car and even control the amount of traffic on the road.
For another competitive edge, players can change their mods, switch into their favorite cars, track milestones and uncover the city’s hidden gems, all on the fly with the Wii U touch screen. Finally, Need for Speed Most Wanted on Wii U brings the action of the open world racer to players’ fingertips. The entire game is playable off-screen using the Wii U GamePad.
Capcom today confirmed that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS will be available in retail stores on March 19th. The full game will also be offered for digital purchase on both systems during this launch timeframe and the Wii U game will fully support the voice chat functionality available on that system. For hunters looking to embark on their journeys sooner, free playable demos on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS will be available on February 21st.
Paradox Interactive has released a new video for The Showdown Effect, highlighting the title’s in-game animation and art. The Showdown Effect will be available on March 5th for PC.
Square Enix has released the “Extended First Look” trailer for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. The new trailer showcases Luxerion, the divine city of light, which is one of the four regions of Nova Chrysalia (previously known as Novus Partus).
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be available this fall for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Rockstar Games today announced that the final Max Payne 3 DLC Pack, Deathmatch Made in Heaven, will release for all platforms on January 22nd. The pack features brand-new co-op and competitive modes, plus new weapons, bursts, items, along with new achievements and trophies.
The Deathmatch Made in Heaven Pack will be available on January 22nd for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live and $9.99 on PC and PlayStation Network. Rockstar Pass owners will receive this content at no additional charge.
Aksys Games today announced that Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi, the newest installment and first action-adventure game in the Hakuoki series, will begin shipping on February 19th for the PSP. Amazon is currently offering a Hakuoki bandana as a pre-order bonus. In addition, each retail copy of Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi will come with a 16-page full-color character guide featuring art of each of the playable characters in the game.

XSEED Games today announced they have come to an agreement with Nintendo that will bring the action role-playing title, Pandora’s Tower, exclusively to Wii this Spring. Developed in Japan by Ganbarion, Pandora’s Tower takes the classic fairytale theme of a maiden in distress and adds a violent twist, with the protagonist setting out to slay over a dozen giant monsters and collect their flesh in order to free his beloved from an evil curse. The agreement with Nintendo grants XSEED Games exclusive publishing rights to Pandora’s Tower in North America. XSEED Games will release more product updates in the coming months.
