Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Jetstream DLC Released

Konami today announced that the Jetstream DLC pack for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is now available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for $9.99 (800 MS Points).

A side story featuring Samuel Rodrigues as a playable character, the DLC includes multiple hours of gameplay including unique abilities and characteristics for Sam, while expanding on his storyline and origins.

Sam, the “cool Brazilian wind,” was a lone swordsman who brought terror and chaos to the underworld in Latin America. After slashing through the world’s outlaws as a part of his training, Sam arrives in Denver, Colorado. Players can find out what happens when he challenges “World Marshall” to test his skills. At last, the hidden story behind Raiden’s rival will be revealed.

Konami will release another DLC pack, Blade Wolf, this May. This additional pack will allow players to control Blade Wolf, showcasing his side story.

Injustice: Gods Among Us – TV Spot

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have released the commercial spot for the upcoming superhero fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us, scheduled for release on April 16th.

Starring, written and directed by Kevin Smith, in the spot, Smith and his long-time sidekick and partner in comics Jason Mewes continue their debate from playground to present, of “who would win in a fight” between superheroes.

Spring Fever Hits PlayStation Store

Sony Computer Entertainment America today announced the game line-up for its annual Spring Fever PlayStation Store event, which highlights upcoming PlayStation Network games, including special deals for PlayStation Plus members, along with sales on existing franchises.

This year’s Spring Fever promotion on PlayStation Network will feature four indie games for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita launching throughout the month of April, including titles like Guacamelee! and Thomas Was Alone, both of which were featured in Sony’s PlayStation Indie Arcade event during GDC.

Gamers will also be able to take advantage of PlayStation’s Cross-Buy functionality for all four titles, so they can purchase a title on one platform (PS3 or PS Vita) and receive a download voucher for the other platform at no additional cost.

The Spring Fever promotion will highlight the following games, and PlayStation Plus members will receive at least a 20 percent discount for each title during release week:

4/9 – Guacamelee!

Fariko Wins Call of Duty Championship

Winning their way through three days of multiplayer competition against 30 other professional four-player teams, Fariko Impact and EnVyUs met face to face at center stage for Sunday’s finals matchup to determine who would be crowned World Champions at the Call of Duty Championship, presented by Xbox. In the end, Fariko Impact, consisting of Damon “Karma” Barlow, Adam “Killa” Sloss, Marcus “MiRx,” and team captain Chris “Parasite” Duarte emerged victorious and cemented their spot as the best Call of Duty: Black Ops II players in the world, taking home $400,000 of the tournament’s $1 Million prize purse. Team EnVyUs took home $200,000, while third place team OpTic Gaming took home $120,000, with the remaining prize purse distributed among the remaining top eight teams.

Halo Week: Drop Shock Begins

Microsoft and 343 Industries today announced Halo Week: Drop Shock, a supply of new Halo 4 content, giveaway opportunities, promotional pricing, and DLC sales.

Here is an overview of the full lineup of content fans can look forward to this week:

Monday, April 8th – Castle Map Pack launches on Xbox Live

Developed by Certain Affinity in collaboration with 343 Industries, the Castle Map Pack brings players three medium-to-large maps that emphasize vehicular combat and large battles over open spaces.

Alongside the release of the Castle Map Pack, 343 Industries will introduce Competitive Skill Rank (CSR), a new 1-50 level ranking system which measures your performance in War Games, intelligently matches you against opponents of comparable skill, and displays your rank on your Halo Waypoint player profile. Starting April 8th at 2:00 a.m. PST and ending April 22nd at 2:00 a.m. PST, play the Castle Team DLC playlist and reach CSR level 35 or higher at any point on or between dates above, and receive an exclusive Avatar tee.

For the first time, the full campaign of Halo 3: ODST Campaign Edition will be available as a standalone digital download on Xbox Live Marketplace.

Wednesday, April 10th – Rank up Your Spartan with Extra XP Challenges

343 Industries will turn up the heat with new Extra XP challenges throughout Halo Week, allowing Spartans to rank up faster by playing online.

With 14 daily and six weekly challenges, players will have the opportunity for extra Experience Points by competing in any Halo 4 mode, be it War Games, Spartan Ops, or Campaign. These challenges were created specifically for Halo Week: Drop Shock, designed to reward more XP than standard challenges for players of all skill levels.

Thursday, April 11th – Spartan Ops Day with Giveaway Opportunity

What Halo Week would be complete without a day dedicated to Spartan Ops? Starting April 11th at 2:00 a.m. PST and ending April 12nd at 2:00 a.m. PST, play and complete any 5 missions of Spartan Ops and receive an exclusive Avatar tee.

Fans can also replay their favourite missions from Spartan Ops Season One as matchmaking for the entire season begins anew during Halo Week: Drop Shock, starting with the first episode.
