Ubisoft today announced an opportunity for fans interested in the studio’s upcoming free-to-play PC title, The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot to get a chance to get a sneak peek of the game during the recently-announced Closed Beta. Ubisoft will host a series of Open House events for the game throughout the summer, which will allow players to experience The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, first hand.
The first Open House event for The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot will take place from July 2 at 4:00pm to July 5 at 9:00pm. Players will be able to sign up for the free event from today to June 28 by visiting www.themightyquest.com. Details about additional Open House events will be announced at a later date.
Nordic Games today announced that it has acquired the rights to Desperados and Silver from Atari.
Desperados are stealth-based real-time tactics PC games, developed by Spellbound and released in 2001 and 2006, respectively. Silver, released in 1999, is an action RPG for PC and Dreamcast.
2K today announced a new contest giving the WWE Universe a unique opportunity to design its own WWE 2K14 video game cover artwork. The Rock is confirmed as the game’s official cover Superstar, but for the first time, 2K is giving consumers the ability to create their own designs for the chance to appear exclusively on the inside of game copies at retail outlets.
Whether consumers opt for designs featuring the likes of John Cena, CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler or Ryback, the decision is now in their hands. Participants will go online to wwe.2k.com/covercontest and choose from a variety of images featuring WWE Superstars and Divas, as well as iconic 2K livery, to enhance their designs. The winning cover artwork will be selected on creative merit and included with copies of WWE 2K14 at retail, as well as featured by 2K in social media and official promotions.
To submit contest entries, consumers will use Twitter to promote their images, with the hashtag #WWE2K14Cover included in their tweets. No purchase necessary. Currently open to legal residents of the 50 U.S. and D.C., at least 18 years of age. Contest ends at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on July, 23rd.
Zen Studios today announced Star Wars Pinball is headed to the Nintendo eShop on Wii U. The downloadable game will be available July 11th for $9.99, featuring three Star Wars themed tables including Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Star Wars Pinball supports the Wii U GamePad, allowing players display redirection to the GamePad screen from the TV and back. Additionally, when used as the Secondary Display, the GamePad displays additional controls and game information including dot matrix, scores, and challenge information.
Nintendo is taking Wii U and Nintendo 3DS on a coast-to-coast, Cross-Canada Tour this summer and everyone’s invited to join the fun!

Namco Bandai today announced Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita (digital download only) later this year.
Developed by Tokyo based game developer Artdink; Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z will feature a large cast of playable characters including Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, and a variety of melee and attacks including the Kamehameha, Special Beam Cannon, and Spirit Bomb. The battles in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z derive their style from the original anime series and will take place in environments on both land and in the air. Dragon Ball Z Battle of Z will let players form teams with up to four characters to participate in group melee action, take on boss battles, or challenge other players around the world for brawls featuring up to eight characters on screen at the same time.
