Square Enix today announced that the beta tests of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on the PlayStation 4 will start on February 22nd, 2014. Furthermore, players on the PlayStation 3 will be able to migrate to the PlayStation 4 at no additional cost, when the system is available.
Players who have purchased the PlayStation 3 version can transition their character data to the PlayStation 4 to continue their online adventure. More detailed information on the PlayStation 4 beta tests and the free transition service will be released soon.

The Creative Assembly announced that Patch 1 for Total War: Rome II is out today and fixes include adjustments to performance for certain set-ups that will improve frame rates and DX10 issues.
Patch 2 is already in internal testing, and is expected to be publically available as a beta on Monday. This patch is planned to include fixes for low-poly models viewed close-up, performance settings on certain hardware combinations and siege battle path-finding amongst other improvements.

Konami today announced the opening of a new Los Angeles development studio. The studio will be instrumental in developing a variety of games, including installments of the Metal Gear Solid franchise. During an opening ceremony at the new studio, Konami discussed new details about the Metal Gear Solid V experience, which includes Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, the prologue to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear Solid creator and Director of Kojima Productions, took the stage to show the first live gameplay demo for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.
