Focus Home Interactive and Tindalos Interactive, the studio that created Stellar Impact, today announced Etherium, a futuristic real-time strategy game that will be released exclusively on PC in June 2014.
In Etherium, three empires are locked in a ruthless struggle to control a distant planet and its moons; this planet contains etherium, a mysterious and precious resource. The player will take the lead of one of the three factions, each with its individual characteristics, strengths, weaknesses, technologies and special skills, such as climate control, espionage and precognition.
Stainless Games today announced that it will launch an Early Access release program for its car combat game, Carmageddon: Reincarnation, during Q1 of 2014. Early Access will be available for PC, via Steam.
The Early Access game will be released with a number of levels, cars and game modes, and more content will then be added in updates over the following months.
Once the Early Access program launches, players will have the option to buy the game content at a variety of tiered prices, starting with the standard game package and leading up to a full package bundle that will include all DLC and all future released material at an all-inclusive price. (All the Kickstarter and Paypal Backers who pledged $15 or more for the game will receive the standard game package bundle for free, as that content is released.)
Carmageddon: Reincarnation will also be released on next gen consoles during 2014.
Square Enix has released a new video for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn in which Lightning, the heroine of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, descends upon the realm of Eorzea. She appears in one of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’s Full Active Time Events, a periodic battle that will allow players to fight alongside Lightning. Upon completing this event successfully, players can receive gear and weaponry modeled after those found in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
Aksys Games today announced that Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God, a rogue-like dungeon crawler RPG for the PlayStation Vita, will not only have a standard edition, but a delectable limited edition. Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God “Hot and Spicy, Everything Nicey Limited Edition” set comes with a fully useable set of kitchenware, including a “Kuu-rry” Plate, a “Kuu-rry” Spoon and a Bib. Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God will be available this holiday season.
Namco Bandai today announced the digital release of Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+ for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+ comes as an upgrade to the 2010 Pac-Man Championship Edition DX game with improved leaderboard functionality, in-game achievements and medals as well as additional DLC packs including mazes, music and graphics such as classic Dig-Dug and Rally-X sprites.
Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+ is available as a free title update for players with Pac-Man Championship Edition DX while other players will be able to download the game on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and Steam.
Valve today announced they are working with multiple partners to bring a variety of Steam gaming machines to market during 2014, all of them running SteamOS.
Valve has designed a high-performance prototype that’s optimized for gaming, for the living room, and for Steam. It’s also completely upgradable and open.
This year Valve will be shipping just 300 of these boxes to Steam users, free of charge, for testing. You can make yourself eligible to get one. Add yourself to the list of candidates by completing the Eligibility Quest on Steam.

Before October 25th, log in to Steam and then visit your quest page to track your current status towards beta test eligibility.
1. Join the Steam Universe community group
2. Agree to the Steam Hardware Beta Terms and Conditions
3. Make 10 Steam friends (if you haven’t already)
4. Create a public Steam Community profile (if you haven’t already)
5. Play a game using a gamepad in Big Picture mode
You can complete the steps in any order. Once you’ve completed all of the steps, you’ll be awarded a special badge, and you’ll officially be among the pool of people from whom Valve will choose beta participants / hardware recipients.
On October 25th, the list will be locked. So complete the quest before then.
Ubisoft, South Park Digital Studios, and Obsidian Entertainment today announced South Park: The Stick of Truth will be available on December 10th for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
