NBA 2K4 Developer Diary: Pro Stick Controls

2K has released a new trailer for NBA 2K14 “Pro Stick Controls”. The Dev Diary content features Senior Producer Rob Jones and others discussing how gamers will see major updates to the game’s controls, with the greatest advancement being the “Pro Stick.”

NBA 2K14 will be available on October 1st for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and will also be coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.

Rise of Venice Released

Kalypso Media today announced the release of Rise of Venice, a new merchant and political simulation, via digital release. Rise of Venice challenges players to sail the seas surrounding Renaissance-era Venice, trading in goods, battling enemy navies and crafting a political empire through means both overt and subversive. Rise of Venice is available via digital portals, including Steam, for $39.99.

Infinite Crisis – Catwoman Champion Profile

Master Thief Edition Unveiled

Square Enix and Eidos-Montréal today announced that a digital download Master Thief edition will be available on February 25th for PC.

The Master Thief PC digital download edition is now available to pre-order at the Square Enix Store and includes the following:

  • Official Digital Artbook – concept art that offers a sneak peek into the shadowy world of Thief.
  • Digital Comic – Delve deeper into the shroud surrounding Thief’s obscure world with this complete collection of digital comic books.
  • Booster Pack – Get access to an exclusive bundle of optional in-game consumables that can empower you and hasten your progression through Thief.
  • Director’s Cut Original Soundtrack – a collection of Thief tracks.
  • The Bank Heist in-game mission: Infiltrate the City’s most secure location, Stonemarket First Bank, to steal a coveted family heirloom called the Star of Auldale. To this day, this heavily guarded and treacherous place remains impregnable, but that’s about to change.

The Master Thief edition is also available at all other major digital distributors.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Soundtracks Coming

Sumthing Else Music Works today announced that it has entered into a multiple-title licensing agreement with Konami to release the original soundtracks from the action-adventure video game series, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.

Featuring the original musical score, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Ultimate Edition Soundtrack is scheduled for a physical release on October 29th to retail outlets through Sumthing Else Music Works, and simultaneously for digital download at iTunes, Amazon MP3 and other digital music sites. An extended version of the album, the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Director’s Cut, includes twenty previously unreleased tracks which will be available exclusively from www.Sumthing.com.

The partnership announced today also includes the upcoming album release for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate Original Soundtrack, available digitally on October 29th followed by a CD release in November, and the upcoming Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Original Soundtrack (Q1 2014).

The Road to Battlefield 4: Every Game Mode Revealed

In the latest Road to Battlefield 4 blog, DICE details the game modes you’ll be playing in the Battlefield 4 Beta, as well as the other modes you will get to experience when Battlefield 4 launches later this year.

The seven game modes are:

  • Conquest (Playable in the Battlefield 4 Beta) – All-out vehicle warfare mixed with intense infantry action across land, air and sea
  • Domination (Playable in the Battlefield 4 Beta) – Fast-paced infantry variant of Conquest
  • Obliteration – Mad dash in vehicles and on foot to deliver explosives
  • Defuse – Competitive close quarters combat
  • Team Deathmatch – The classic shooter mode – Battlefield 4 style
  • Rush – Fight deep into enemy territory by detonating their M-COM stations
  • Squad Deathmatch – Four squads fight on the ground with limited vehicle support in a race to the top of the leaderboard

EA Reaches Settlement with Athletes in NCAA Likeness Case

Today, attorneys representing student athletes who claim Electronic Arts illegally used student-athletes’ likenesses in the company’s NCAA Football video games confirmed they have reached a proposed settlement.

The settlement covers claims made in the Keller and O’Bannon case against EA along with the Alston and Hart cases, but must be approved by the court. The amount and other terms are confidential pending a court filing.

EA and attorneys for the student-athletes reached the settlement after the United States Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the proposed class in an attempt by EA to dismiss the case.
