Battlefield 4 Player Appreciation Event Next Week

DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson announced a special “Battlefield Appreciation” event for Battlefield 4 will be hosted November 28 through December 5. During that time, players will receive Double XP for every multiplayer match they complete. The event is in response to the turbulence players have experienced during the launch period:

“While some platforms have had only minor problems, others have had more than their fair share of issues. Resolving the launch issues is our #1 priority. In fact, we are so serious that we have the entire team working to stabilize the game and we will not move on to other projects until we are sure that Battlefield 4 meets – and exceeds – your expectations. It is the right thing to do.”

To end the event, players that log in to the game on December 5 will receive a M1911 pistol scope. This special sidearm scope, previously reserved for DICE developers, has a 3X zoom and is available for all classes in Battlefield 4.

Microsoft today confirmed the launch of Xbox One was the biggest launch in Xbox history, with more than one million consoles sold through worldwide in less than 24 hours – surpassing day one Xbox 360 sales and setting a new record for Microsoft.

Tearaway Ships

Sony Computer Entertainment today announced the launch of Tearaway, available exclusively for PlayStation Vita. Developed by Media Molecule, creators of the LittleBigPlanet franchise, the tactile world of Tearaway is a 3D platformer built completely out of paper.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Ships for Xbox One

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is now available in stores nationwide for Xbox One. The game is also out now for PlayStation4, as well as the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC.

Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers Launch Trailer

Namco Bandai has released the launch trailer for Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers, coming exclusively to PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 on November 26th.

Disney Infinity to Receive the Royal Treatment

Disney Interactive today announced its holiday line-up of Disney Infinity figures and Power Discs. Among the new character additions to the game’s Toy Box mode are Rapunzel (from “Tangled”), Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope (from “Wreck-It Ralph”) and Anna and Elsa (from the upcoming movie “Frozen”).

Canadian release dates are as follows:

• Rapunzel: Available at Walmart Nov. 26 – Dec. 31. for $12.99.
• Wreck-It Ralph: Available at Best Buy Nov. 26 – Dec. 31. for $12.99.
• Vanellope: Available at Target Nov. 26 – Dec. 31. for $12.99.
• Frozen Toy Box Pack: National release on Nov. 26 for $29.99.

In addition, 20 new Power Discs will make their way into circulation including three new “rare” versions featuring the “Electric Mayhem Bus” from the world of The Muppets, the “Condor Wing Glider” and Captain Hook’s ship from the classic Disney Parks ride. Circular Power Discs give characters special power-ups that can be used in both Play Sets and Toy Box. Hexagonal Power Discs unlock special gadgets, vehicles and themes in the Toy Box.

• Ralph’s Power of Destruction – In-game character can increase melee damage.
• Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s Damage-inator! – In-game character weapon can do more wide ranged damage.

• User Control – In-game character has a chance to gain experience at a faster rate.

• Flamingo Croquet Mallet – Spawn a Flamingo croquet mallet from “Alice in Wonderland” inside the Toy Box.

Inaugral GTA Online Social Club Event Weekend Kicks Off

This weekend, Friday, November 22nd through Sunday, November 24th, hit the beaches of Vespucci, Chumash and Paleto Bay for the very first Grand Theft Auto Online Social Club Event Weekend.

All weekend long, plunge into a special Social Club Event Playlist of brand new Jobs from the freshly landed Beach Bum Pack.
