NIS America today announced that Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited will be available on August 12th on PlayStation Vita, both in retail and digital form. This is an expanded and enhanced version of the fourth game in the Disgaea series, Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten, which was originally released on the PlayStation 3 in 2011, and features all the DLC from the PS3 version as well as new content.
The NPD Group has released its report for the month of April. While software sales continued to be down 10% year over year in April, hardware sales were up 76%. Overall, total industry sales increased 17% to $580.3 million. PlayStation 4 was the best selling platform for the fourth month in a row. Sales of the PS4 and Xbox One hardware have more than doubled the combined sales of PS3 and Xbox 360 hardware through their first six months. PS4 and Xbox One software sales are also up 40% compared to PS3 and Xbox 360 through their first six months. Wii U software sales were up 80% over last year.

The first round of the Madden NFL 15 Cover Vote is now in the books, with top seeds Cam Newton and Richard Sherman earning the most votes in the first round. In conjunction with Activision, IDW Publishing today announced the Skylanders comic-book series, penned by comic-book writer Ron Marz, and Mike Bowden and David Baldeon as lead artists. The first issue, a prequel to the Skylanders Trap Team storyline, provides fans an inside look at where some of the Skylanders came from, and even gives them a first look at a few all-new characters from the upcoming game. The issue will be launched in both print and digital during SDCC weekend.

Ubisoft today announced Far Cry 4, an open-world, first-person shooter, will be available November 18th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. Development on Far Cry 4 is being led by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai, and Ubisoft Kiev.
In Far Cry 4, players find themselves in Kyrat, a region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using an array of weapons, vehicles and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape.
Customers who pre-order Far Cry 4 receive a free upgrade to the Limited Edition which includes Hurk’s Redemption, a series of three single-player missions featuring the character Hurk from Far Cry 3’s DLC. The Limited Edition also includes Hurk’s harpoon gun called “The Impaler”. The pre-order is now available at all major retailers.

Capcom today announced that the digital upgrade versions of Ultra Street Fighter IV will release on June 3rd for PlayStation 3 and on June 4th for Xbox 360. On August 5th, the PS3 and Xbox 360 retail versions will be in stores, with the full digital bundle on PS3 available for download then too. Both the digital upgrade and full digital bundle for PC will be out on August 8th.
Players who pre-order any version of Ultra Street Fighter IV at select retailers will receive the 2014 Challengers Costume Pack, consisting of alternate costumes for each of the five new characters for free. The five new costumes include: Jungle Elena, Medieval Hugo, Pirate Poison, Wizard Rolento and Gladiator Decapre.
Square Enix Collective and Tuque Games today announced that World War Machine, the post-human action-RPG, has now entered the crowdfunding stage via the Collective partnership with Indiegogo.
World War Machine was one of three projects to be involved in Collective’s pilot phase. It garnered an enthusiastic response, with over 90% of voters indicating that they would back the game through crowdfunding. The time to make the game a reality has arrived with a target of $50,000 over a 40-day period in order to finish the game and release on PC. Gamers can fund the project on Indiegogo now at http://igg.me/at/worldwarmachine.
