The NPD Group has released its retail report for the month of March. Both software and hardware sales were down year-over-year in March, by 3% and 21% respectively. Overall, total industry sales were down 6% to $963.7 million. PlayStation 4 was the top-selling platform in March and also No. 1 in software sales.

Double Eleven and Coffee Stain Studios today announced that Goat Simulator will be released on Xbox One via the ID@Xbox self-publishing program on April 17th.
Turtle Rock Studios and 2K challenge the Evolve community to deal 200 million damage to Monsters using Bucket’s sentry guns this weekend between 12:01 AM ET on Friday, April 17th and 12:01 AM ET on Monday, April 20th. If the challenge is met by the community, everyone who plays Evolve during that time will be rewarded with the Bucket Predator Skin.
If the Evolve community blows past the above goal by dealing at least 350 million damage to Monsters with Bucket’s sentry guns, everyone who plays Evolve online during that time will earn the entire Support Predator Skin Set.
Iceberg Interactive today announced that they have signed a publishing deal for Oriental Empires, a turn based 4X style civilization-building game set in ancient China. The PC game is currently set for a Summer 2015 Early Access debut on Steam.
