February brings Hitman 3’s first content update with new Featured Contracts, Escalations, and gear to unlock:
Owlcat Games today announced that the first beta for its classic isometric CRPG, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, is now available to backers who contributed to the title’s Kickstarter or Slacker Backer campaigns in the relevant tiers. The beta allows fans to play through the game’s prologue and first three chapters with all quests, all companion storylines, and some romantic options available.
Owlcat also revealed a new trailer showcasing the title’s combat. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will launch on PC via Steam and GOG this summer. A second beta is set to arrive this Spring.
The Steam Game Festival: February 2021 Edition is on now, with brand-new demos for fans to “Play What’s Next” for free through Tuesday, February 9th at 1pm ET. The event features games from around the world across multiple genres, plus developer-hosted livestreams and chats. As an added bonus, the Steam Game Festival is livestreaming its own show today, February 3rd, highlighting a select group of demos from 2pm ET to 10pm ET.
Gearbox today announced they will join Embracer Group as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Sweden-based company formerly known as THQ Nordic. The transaction, which is worth up to $1.3 billion, will see Gearbox become a significant part of the Embracer Group’s growing family of member companies, which today also added U.S.-based Aspyr Media for $100 million. Gearbox confirmed that Randy Pitchford will continue in his current role as head of Gearbox Entertainment.
Sega today announced Total War: Warhammer III, the culmination of the Total War: Warhammer strategy game trilogy from developer Creative Assembly, in partnership with Warhammer maker Games Workshop, is coming to PC in 2021.
