Mega Man Legacy Collection Coming August 25th

Capcom announced that Mega Man Legacy Collection will be available digitally starting August 25th for $14.99 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and early 2016 on Nintendo 3DS. Physical editions of the game will also be available early 2016 for $29.99 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo 3DS. More details regarding the Nintendo 3DS digital release and the physical editions will be confirmed at a later date.

This collection celebrates a piece of video game history by not only featuring the series’ origins with all six of the 8-bit classics, it also collects hundreds of high-resolution scans of vintage concept sketches, production art, unused Robot Master designs, a database of enemy information, a robust Challenge Mode full of remixed gameplay sections, plus a music player with all the games’ soundtracks — more than 100 songs.

Challenge Mode remixes gameplay segments from all six games, with plenty of scaling difficulty objectives for experienced players to conquer yet serves as a good starting point for new players, too. All six of the classic games will retain their retro 8-bit style with a newly added HD finish, giving all of the original sprites the crispest look fans have ever seen.

Mafia III Revealed

2K officially revealed Mafia III. The next installment in the crime series is being developed by Hangar 13, a new development studio led by veteran game developer Haden Blackman. Mafia III will be available in calendar 2016 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Mafia III is set in a reimagined New Orleans in 1968, one of the most tumultuous years in American history. This version of New Orleans is bustling with activity, complete with era-inspired cars, fashion and music. During this turbulent time, a cloud of corruption hangs in the air and the city has become a haven for organized crime. The Italian mob controls illegal gambling, drugs, and prostitution, while corrupt police and politicians line their pockets with the proceeds.

Mafia III follows the story of Lincoln Clay, a disenfranchised Vietnam veteran, returning from combat and looking for a home and a place to belong. Orphaned as a child, Lincoln at last achieves a semblance of family with the city’s black mob, finding the surrogate father and brother he has longed for. But when Lincoln’s new family is betrayed and slaughtered by the Italian mob, he becomes fixated on revenge and wages a brutal war against the Italians, disrupting the balance of power in the seedy underworld of New Orleans. As the story progresses, Lincoln allies himself with other criminals and builds an empire and a new family of his own that transforms the city.

Throughout the story of Mafia III, players choose their path to revenge and build their own crime empire using cunning, stalking and deception, or through overwhelming force and firepower. Mafia III combines the best of cinematic storytelling with a dynamic narrative structure that responds to player choices, set in a vibrant city that responds to Lincoln’s actions.

Unlockable Adventure Worlds in LEGO Dimensions

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment revealed that LEGO Dimensions will include unlockable Adventure Worlds that provide open-world environments for players to explore. Separate from the game’s main story which takes players on a journey through universes as varied as The Simpsons and Doctor Who in their quest to save the LEGO Multiverse, players will also be able to access fourteen distinct Adventure Worlds for each of the fan-favorite entertainment properties in the game. Every character in LEGO Dimensions, including the three Starter Pack characters and any Expansion Pack character, has the ability to unlock the corresponding Adventure World of same brand to provide players with additional gameplay content that is based on that entertainment property.

Players will immediately have access to three unique Adventure Worlds based on DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, and The LEGO Movie. Each of these Adventure Worlds can be unlocked by one of the three heroes from the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack: LEGO Batman can unlock the DC Comics Adventure World, LEGO Gandalf can unlock The Lord of the Rings Adventure World and Wyldstyle can unlock The LEGO Movie Adventure World. Additionally, each of the remaining Adventure Worlds can be unlocked by any character from the same franchise available in the LEGO Dimensions Level Packs, Team Packs and Fun Packs.

In a new trailer giving the first glimpse of the Adventure Worlds, X-PO (voiced by Joel McHale), the robot guide from LEGO Dimensions, shows off worlds full of beauty and mystery where players will be able to race, collect studs and gold bricks, and explore classic locations from the varied brands available in the game for even more adventure beyond the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment also revealed a Ghostbusters Level Pack with a LEGO Peter Venkman minifigure and Ghostbusters Fun Packs with LEGO Stay Puft and LEGO Slimer minifigures.

Launching September 27th, LEGO Dimensions will be available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Wii U.
