Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash Launching This Week

When Earth’s resources are in danger from a mischievous group of aliens, there’s only one robot with the skill to save the world. That robot’s name is Chibi-Robo, and he’s the star of the new game Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash, launching exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS on October 9th. Using his plug and cord, Chibi-Robo can whip, grapple and swing his way through a side-scrolling platformer filled with enemies and environmental puzzles. By scanning the Chibi-Robo amiibo figure that is included in the special bundle, players can access bonus features like the ability to power up to Super Chibi-Robo, increasing Chibi-Robo’s speed and watts and allowing him to travel for longer distances without having to charge up.

Umbrella Corps – Gameplay Video

Capcom has released a new gameplay video showcasing the fast-paced close quarters combat from Umbrella Corps. Two squads from the development team in Capcom Japan duke it out in 3 vs. 3 competitive team battles in the third-person shooter’s One Life Match Mode. In this mode, players must defeat the opposing team in a 3-minute time limit without any option to re-spawn.

The video also shows off the non-traditional arsenal of weapons in Umbrella Corps that offer a twist on the traditional gun and grenade loadout. The “Brainer” melee axe can be charged up and used as a one-hit kill attack and the “Zombie Jammer” adds an extra variable to the mix. When this is intact, zombies will not attack, but if it’s damaged either by a calculated or errant shot, that player will become instant zombie fodder.

Umbrella Corps will be available for the PlayStation 4 and PC in 2016.

Far Cry Primal Announced

Ubisoft today announced the development of Far Cry Primal, the next chapter in the Far Cry franchise, set during the savage Stone Age. Far Cry Primal hits shelves on February 23rd for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will also ship on PC in March 2016.

Developed by Ubisoft Montréal in collaboration with Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai Studio and Ubisoft Kiev Studio, Far Cry Primal is a full-fledged single player experience that will take gamers to 10,000 BC in history to a time when massive beasts like the woolly mammoth and sabretooth tiger ruled the Earth.

Gamers play as TAKKAR, a seasoned hunter and the last surviving member of his hunting group. Arriving in the majestic and savage land of Oros, players will pursue one single goal; survive in a world where humans are the prey. They will meet a cast of characters who will help them push back and tame the dangers of the wild. Players will journey as the first human to tame the wilderness and rise above extinction. Along the way, they will have to hunt for food, master fire, fend off fierce predators, craft weapons and tools partly from the bones of slain beasts and face off against other tribes to conquer Oros.
