With the release of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III just one week away, Relic Entertainment and Sega today release the Fragments of War trailer. On April 27th , the planet Acheron will emerge from the warp, bringing with it the mysterious Spear of Khaine – the powerful weapon that sets Dawn of War III in motion, drawing three familiar faces ever closer to their intertwined fates.
Through its narration, the trailer surfaces the defining features of the story’s core heroes – Gabriel Angelos of the Space Marines, Farseer Macha of the Eldar, and Gorgutz ‘Ead’unter of the Orks. But as each shard twists, doubt is cast over whether those features will propel them to power, or see them left bloodied in defeat.
Call of Duty returns to its World War II roots with Call of Duty: WWII, developed by Sledgehammer Games. More details are incoming during the game’s Worldwide Reveal livestream on April 26th at 1:00 pm EST, featuring Sledgehammer Games co-studio heads and founders Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield. Fans will be able to tune in to get a first look at Call of Duty: WWII and get intel on the studio’s vision for the game.

Gazillion announced that the closed beta for Marvel Heroes Omega on PlayStation 4 begins today. To celebrate today’s closed beta launch, which is scheduled to run until May 15th, Gazillion also officially confirmed drop-in, two-player, couch co-op for Marvel Heroes Omega. This co-op feature will be available starting today.

Paradox Interactive today announced that the city builder Cities: Skylines is now available for Xbox One. Newly optimized for play on a controller by Tantalus Media, the Xbox One Edition brings the management game to consoles along with Cities: Skylines – After Dark, the game’s nightlife-focused expansion.
THQ Nordic and Piranha Bytes today released a brand-new trailer for their upcoming sci-fi/fantasy action RPG Elex, set for release later this year on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. This prologue trailer recounts the events on Magalan, home to a civilization of millions, after the comet hit; earthquakes shattered its cities and firestorms swept the planet. As Magalan fell into darkness, the survivors faced a world that was unrecognizable. The prologue leads up to the point where players will be thrown into this world, now controlled by a substance called Elex.

Super Bomberman R also received an update today, which offers a series of improvements and features. As part of the update, players can experience ‘Battle’ mode in 60 fps and have the option to choose the AI’s level of difficulty, as well as change the camera angle in ‘Story’ mode. Additionally, various adjustments have been made to improve controls, fix minor bugs, among others.
Additional items will also be released at a later date, including new characters such as Vic Viper Bomber from Gradius, Belmont Bomber from Castlevania, and Pyramid Head Bomber from Silent Hill.
XSEED Games today released a brand new story trailer teasing the reality-bending premise of Acquire’s upcoming satirical JRPG, Akiba’s Beat. The trailer also offers a glimpse at the game’s Akihabara-inspired environments, party-based action battle system, and hand-drawn art style.
Akiba’s Beat is headed to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on May 16th.
Today’s release of the “Meet the Heroes” trailer rounds out the 15 playable characters that appear in the action-RPG, Dragon Quest Heroes II, which launches on April 25th for the PlayStation 4 and PC. The latest entry in this video series features Dragon Quest IV’s rogue trader and newcomer to the series, Torneko Taloon, and his array of unconventional weapons that plow through hordes of enemies. The video also showcases fan-favorites and returning heroes from Dragon Quest IV, Alena, the vivacious martial artist, and Kiryl, her steadfast defender.
