Electronic Arts has released a story trailer for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. In addition, EA announced that a Closed Beta for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is coming, and you can now sign up for a chance to be part of it. The Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Closed Beta will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Origin. Stay tuned for more info on the Closed Beta, when it’s coming, and other details.
Bethesda Softworks today announced that DOOM will be available on May 13th for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
Bethesda also revealed plans to release a premium collector’s edition of DOOM that will be available through participating retailers. The limited DOOM collector’s edition, created in conjunction with TriForce, includes an exclusive, fully-realized 12” tall collector’s statue of one of the game’s most iconic demons: the Revenant. Modeled from actual in-game 3D files, the demonic Revenant stands on an LED-lit base with internal, slow-spinning turbine from the UAC facility on Mars. The DOOM collector’s edition also includes a copy of the game packaged in an exclusive metal case.
The DOOM collector’s edition is available for pre-order through participating retailers and is priced at $119.99 USD. Players pre-ordering the DOOM collector’s edition or the standard edition of the game will receive the Demon Multiplayer Pack which contains a unique demon armor set with three skin variations, six metallic paint colors and three id logo patterns that can be applied to weapons and armor, plus a set of six Hack Modules – one-time consumable items that can give you an edge in a multiplayer match.
Unravel launches on February 9th for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 – but EA Access and Origin Access members can try it starting today.
Members can download Unravel and start exploring its heartfelt story while solving the game’s physics-based puzzles. The Play First Trial for Unravel includes the first two levels. Members can replay those two levels for up to ten hours, searching for secrets and adventuring with Yarny.
Should they decide to continue exploring with Yarny once Unravel releases on February 9th, the game picks up right where it left off – all of the progress carries over. EA Access and Origin Access members also save 10% when they purchase Unravel on Xbox Live and Origin.com respectively.
Obsidian Entertainment and Paradox Interactive today revealed several forthcoming updates to Pillars of Eternity. Later this month, alongside the release of the game’s second expansion, The White March – Part 2, Obsidian will make new updates to the gameplay and features of Pillars of Eternity available for all players. These updates will include a streamlined combat UI, updates to the in-game Stronghold and portions of the game world, a new “Story Time” game mode, and improvements to a variety of in-game features such as knockout injuries that change the difficulty during combat. Version “3.0” of the game will arrive as a free update to all players of Pillars of Eternity on February 16th, the same day as the release of The White March – Part 2.

XSEED Games today announced that its farming-flavored turn-based RPG, Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale, will launch on March 1st exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. To coincide with this announcement, XSEED Games has unveiled a brand new trailer highlighting the game’s story, battle system, and English voice-acting, the latter of which will be on offer in addition to the game’s original Japanese voice tracks.
Wastelands Interactive today announced that its new project – a turn-based strategy game titled Planar Conquest – will launch on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in Q2 2016. Planar Conquest is a re-imagined and enhanced version of Worlds of Magic – a Kickstarter-funded 4x game that was released last year on PC.
