Outer Wilds Wins Grand Prize at the 2015 Independent Games Festival Awards

Tonight, the celestial exploration game Outer Wilds was honored with the Seumas McNally Grand Prize award at the 2015 Independent Games Festival hosted by the Game Developers Conference. Outer Wilds also won the Excellence in Design award.

Other achievements that were recognized during the awards ceremony include the Excellence in Visual Art award won by Patrick Smith for his fresh take on the alphabet in Metamorphabet, and the Excellence in Audio award presented to SuperChop Games for the original soundtrack to Ephemerid: A Musical Adventure. Additionally, the Nuovo Award for abstract and unconventional games was awarded to Tetrageddon Games by Nathalie Lawhead, the Best Narrative award went to 80 Days by developer inkle, and the Best Student Game was awarded to Close Your by Goodbye World Games. Finally, the Audience Award was presented to This War of Mine from 11 bit studios for their fresh take on the survival game genre.
