Killzone: Liberation ranks as one of the best action games on the PSP. The decision to emphasize tactics pays off in spades thanks to an intuitive interface for controlling Captain Templar and the Tactical Command System, where you'll get to occasionally command an AI teammate. The vehicles are a little difficult to control and the levels could be a little less linear, but it's easy to overlook these shortcomings when the rest of the gameplay is as strong as it is. The icing on the cake comes in the form of multiplayer support, both cooperatively and competitively. Whether you're familiar with the Killzone franchise or not, Killzone: Liberation deserves to be in your PSP game collection, especially if you're an action fan.

Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror is without a doubt one of the best looking games on the PSP. The graphics are outstanding, from the well-directed if long-winded cutscenes that introduce each episode to the detailed environments and character models. To give you an idea just how detailed the game is, when you pick up a dead terrorist's weapon and swap it into your gear, it physically appears on Gabe's body, strapped over his shoulder. The visuals are complimented by an equally powerful audio component, highlighted by great voice acting and a fantastic tension-building soundtrack. Overall, the production values are top notch for a PSP game.

What we said about it:

Overall, though, Age of Empires: The Age of Kings turns out to be merely adequate. There are some pretty glaring problems that simply overshadow the good areas of the game. All game engine gripes aside, the campaign is well done. There's plenty of scripting to keep you in the action and the mission bonuses are tough to get, but worthwhile from a gameplay perspective. The heroes are all distinctive, just like the missions they have to go on. It's nice to see a game where the campaign missions aren't just "Do this in this stage, then go and do it again in the next six stages."
