We're all familiar with Tony Hawk andBam Margera and their special brand of destruction and mayhem. Usually, as far as Margera is concerned, the obnoxious antics are played out on TV, but this time you have a chance to join in on the fun. That's right, for the low, low price of one PSP game, you too can destroy landmarks with some of your skating favorites!

For those of you who haven't played the original console version, I'll go ahead and fill you in. You play as a new skater who is coming up the ranks. Apparently you've garnered the attention of Bam and Tony, so they kidnap you. Once in the custody of two skating legends, you and a few others are divided into two teams to compete across the country on a tour of destruction. This is where all the fun begins.

So, during this whirlwind tour of mayhem and destruction, you'll end up visiting many different cities with the intent to destroy the things that they hold dear, and, of course, pull some really sick moves. Each level has plenty to do and quite a few secret places to find as well. There are different skaters to find and unlock in each level, including a few unlikely ones from the distant past. There really is a lot to play around with in Remix. In fact, it's basically the exact same game as it's console brethren.

That goes for the rest of the options as well. There's a Classic Mode for those of us who are fans of the old school Tony Hawk games. Of course, no Tony Hawk game would be complete without Create-A-Skater mode and that's here in full force. There's even a wifi mode, but it's only for ad-hoc which is a shame.

In fact, it's really hard to tell the difference. The only things that can be said are that a few of the textures aren't as high quality as the console versions, but that's not a big deal because it's pretty hard to tell the difference. The graphics and sound in this game are pretty phenomenal for a handheld, and they're pretty decent by today's console standards as well. The soundtrack is all there and sounds really great through a set of headphones. The same goes for the game's sound effects as well. THUG2 Remix is a pretty impressive package all around.

Of course, the only gripes about this game can be related directly to the gripes about it's console counterpart. It's more of the same thing as THUG, which can get a little tired, but for some reason it's much more fun to play in it's handheld form. I wasn't a huge fan of the console version but I really enjoyed this one. Maybe it's because you can pick it up any time and skate a round a little as opposed to having to be in your house, in front of your TV to play the other. This one just feels right in all the places that the console version felt old.

In the end, THUG2 Remix is currently one of the better titles out for the PSP. If you like the older games or are new to the series and want to get a game to show off some of the cooler features of the PSP, this would be my recommendation. Go get your skate on.
